WASHINGTON, DC: A man who once served as rapper Eminem's stunt double in the early 2000s, died after being hit by a pickup vehicle while attempting to cross the street. According to his brother Kyle, Ryan Shepard, 40, died in Washington at the end of January after being struck by an approaching pickup truck. He was taken to a hospital by emergency personnel, but it was too late.

Ryan was highly clever, according to Kyle, and went on to work as a ride mechanical engineer at Disney before moving on to Elon Musk's SpaceX as a test automation engineer, as reported by TMZ.

In addition to serving as Eminem's stunt duplicate and photo double, Ryan also stood in for Slim Shady on the rapper's 2002 Anger Management Tour and flew into the MTV Movie Awards as the rapper's superhero persona, Rapper Boy, as reported by New York Post.

Furthermore, to perform on stage once more with the rapper on his 2002 Anger Management Tour and his 2003 Japan and Europe Tour, he also played Eminem's double in D12's 'Purple Hills' music video.

'Eminem had a stunt double?'

Some fans were not even aware Eminem had used a stunt double, with one tweeting, "@Eminem had a stunt double ??? for what???" Another questioned, "Or was it Eminem that was hit by a truck and this “stunt double” is actually his clone, aka replacement?" A third chimed in tweeting, "So how do we know if he wasnt the real Slim Shady?" "All of the people born after 2003 asking why he needed a stunt double," said a fourth. Another asked, "RIP. But how does he give off more of an Eminem vibe in the pic than the real slim shady?"
