Tree, recalled the early days of the royal’s relationship and reportedly said, "Meghan texted me from London and said, 'Silver, you're not going to believe this,' and that she was going to go out on a date with him and we thought it was really funny. Tree also sided with her friend Meghan after the controversies following her interview with Oprah in 2021. Fighting for Meghan, the TV guru supported their friendship by sharing a unique glimpse into their relationship. She tweeted from her official Twitter handle, “This is Meg before she met H. This is Meg now. She’s always been this person. She’s not a headline. She’s my friend. I love her."

Tree continued in another tweet, "This is Meg. A real person- not a cover story. She is one of my very nearest and dearest. Like all her friends I love her madly. She is the friend who insists on always hearing the details of your life, your day, your kids life, your kids day, before hers. Always before hers."

She also shared photos of Meghan along with her tweets. In series one, a number of other friends of the couple, besides Tree, recollected how Harry and Meghan first became close. The list includes Lindsay Jill Roth, Lucy Fraser, Silver Tree and Jill Smoller, along with Harry's friend from Eton, Nicky. Professional polo player Nacho Figuera and Letsie, the King of Lesotho, also feature in the docuseries.
