Who is Lawrence Jones? Reporter joins ‘Fox & Friends’ as regular host in ‘opportunity of a lifetime’
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News' morning show 'Fox & Friends' has welcomed a new regular host, Lawrence Jones. He will be joining the weekday regular hosts Ainsley Earhardt, Steve Doocy, and Brain Kilmeade for the popular early broadcast.
Jones is not a newbie on the network as he had been shuffling around on several programs before he landed the regular spot. Prior to this, he was an enterprise reporter for 'Fox & Friends' and will continue in this role as well.
Here's all you need to know about the new host who has already made his first appearance on Thursday, September 14 as he announced the news on 'Fox & Friends' itself.
Lawrence Jones, the youngest Black solo host of cable news
Jones has been a part of the Fox News family since 2018. He has been a part of several shows on the network and became the enterprise reporter for 'Fox & Friends' back in 2021 per Fox News.
Jones was able to bag his own show 'Lawrence Jones Cross Country' in January of 2022, making him the youngest Black solo host on cable news at 29 years.
The weekly show, which aired on Saturdays, saw Jones going around the country, asking Americans their concerns and discussing the latest issues. The show has now come to an end and will be replaced by his co-host Kilmeade's 'One Nation with Brian Kilmeade' in the 9 pm ET slot.

The new host was also one of the guest anchors who helped fill in for Tucker Carlson's disappearance from the channel after his primetime show suddenly came to an end. The show was later replaced by 'The Five' host Jesse Watters' own show.
'Fox & Friends' family gathers to welcome Lawrence Jones
On Thursday, all of the regulars at 'Fox & Friends', including the weekend hosts, got together to welcome their new young addition to the team. Host Pete Hegseth, who is usually seen on the weekends, filled in for Doocy, currently on vacation, and had joined remotely alongside the other two weekend hosts Will Cain and Rachel Campos Duffy.
"At 30, this is like the opportunity of a lifetime," Jones said during his first appearance on the couch next to his new colleagues, adding, "I get to be with the big crew now."
"You just fit right in in this family," co-host Earhardt told him.
"'Fox & Friends' has always treated me like family even though I was like some annoying little brother probably to Brian," Jones joked, to which Kilmeade sarcastically responded, "Wait a second, we are going to see each other every day?"
