FORT LAURADALE, FLORIDA: HGTV is slated to come back with another home renovation series following the roaring success of shows like 'Flip or Flop', 'Renovation 911', etc. The new eight-episode series 'Home in a Heartbeat' premieres on HGTV on Wednesday, April 19 at 9 pm ET, and will be available to stream on Discovery+ the same day.
The HGTV series will feature DIY design expert and viral social media sensation Galey Alix. In each episode of the reality tv show, Galey and her team will work long hours to create stunning home renovations that will give these families — all chosen from her massive social media following — the boost they've been looking for. Who is Galey Alix?
Galey is based in Florida and works for Goldman Sachs as a Vice President and Regional Director, in addition to pursuing interior design projects on the weekends. She has to fit all of her home renovations into a 72-hour turnaround each weekend because of her day job. Galey may appear to be exactly where she belongs, but this is not where she expected her life to be.
She was supposed to be married and living in her dream house in Connecticut right now. Galey revealed the truth about her internal conflict to the one person she thought she could trust just weeks before her wedding. She informed her then-fiancé that she was suffering from an eating disorder and needed assistance in locating a local therapist.
Instead of offering her comfort or support, her then-fiancé asked her how she could do this to him. Within an hour of this conversation, he had her pack a suitcase, get her two dogs, and board a plane back to Florida. Galey decided to work on herself and went to see a therapist at this point. After Galey started feeling a bit better, she decided to devote more time to her design projects and this led to the birth of an unexpectedly successful design empire Galey Alix design. Galey was also able to hold onto her Vice president position and is now all set to make her reality tv debut.
