Who is Clara Chia Marti? Shakira’s ex Gerard Piqué goes Insta official with his new girlfriend
BARCELONA, SPAIN: Former Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué went Instagram-official with his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti, just weeks after his ex Shakira released a diss track about the former Barcelona star. Piqué and Marti, who apparently began dating while the athlete was still with the singer of "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," were seen cuddling in the photo while on a restaurant patio. The two smiled slyly at the camera while wearing matching all-black attire.
The duo made their social media debut after Shakira, who broke up with the soccer star in June 2022, appeared to criticize Gerard and Clara in her most recent track, a collaboration with Argentine DJ Bizarrap titled, "BZRP Music Session #53." The song has managed to garner millions of views and has broken the YouTube record of the most-viewed Latin song in 24 hours.

The new love interest of Gerard Pique, Clara, works with Pique's event production firm, Kosmos, as a PR student. The pair started seeing each other even when the soccer star and Shakira were still a thing. Sources close to the 23-year-old PR professional revealed to The Sun earlier, “Gerard and Clara have been seeing each other for months. They have been keeping quiet about their relationship but those around them all know what is happening.”
“People have been helping him keep the romance hush-hush and have wiped Clara’s social media accounts so people can’t find photos of her. That alone makes his mates think he is actually quite serious about being with her,” the source added.
The Shakira fans are definitely not happy
As expected several Shakira fans criticized Piqué after seeing the new photo of him with his girlfriend. One fan wrote in Spanish, “Shakira was great for you!” “Clearly sooner or later everything pays off! Shakira, I love you you are the best,” another added. Someone noted, "Shaki team! I hope she posts soon with another boy.” “She doesn’t compare to the mother of your children,” yet another user remarked.
Shakira and Gerard first got to know one another in 2010 while they were filming the music video for her song "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)." They made their relationship known in 2011 before having sons, Milan, now 9, and Sasha, age 7. A little over ten years later, the couple made their breakup public. In a joint statement in June 2022, they expressed their regret for having to announce their separation, writing, “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the wellbeing of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy.”
