LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billie Eilish has obtained a restraining order against a man accused of attempting to enter her family's Los Angeles home earlier this year. The singer-songwriter had earlier stated in her court filing that the encounter had caused her ‘substantial anxiety, fear, and emotional distress,’ leaving her worried for herself and her family's safety.

"My father and members of the Los Angeles Police Department recently informed me that an individual who goes by the name Christopher A Anderson or Chris Anderson recently entered the interior of my family’s home on January 5, 2023, unannounced and uninvited, after apparently professing his love for me and expressing that he really wanted to meet me,” the singer added, seeking the court's protection

Who is Chris Anderson?

On January 5, the 39-year-old Chris Anderson attempted to break into Billie's childhood house by hopping over a fence. There were no reported injuries, and Anderson was arrested. No more information was released about Anderson. "I have viewed images of this individual and can confirm I have no idea who he is and that I have had no prior relationship or communication with him,” the ‘lovely’ singer reportedly claimed, according to Insider

However, Anderson allegedly entered the home "apparently professing his love for me and expressing that he really wanted to meet me,” according to the singer’s lawsuit. Billie also claims in the legal documents that he visited the residence "unannounced and uninvited" many times between late December and early January.

Is Billie Eilish safe now?

Billie Eilish was granted a restraining order against Anderson, according to TMZ. This means that Anderson is required to stay 100 yards away from Billie, her family, and her parent's home, and he is not permitted to contact her on social media or come within 100 yards of her vehicle or her job site. If he does, cops can arrest him right away. The singer’s mother and father, Maggie May Baird and Patrick Mead O'Connell, as well as her brother and producer Finneas O'Connell, are also named in the restraining order so Anderson cannot approach them either in a bid to get closer to the singer. This does not mean that Anderson won't violate these terms but it does provide a modicum of safety to the singer and her family.

'Not the first time'

Prior to Anderson, the lawsuit claimed that the police had been called to the property no less than five times for similar incidents. "Regrettably, this is not the first time an unknown individual has attempted to contact my family and me specifically by stalking us outside my family's home and by making professions of love to and threats of violence against me,” the singer added.

She went on to say, "However, each such occasion, including the present one, causes me substantial anxiety, fear, and emotional distress over my personal safety and that of my father, mother, and brother. I worry that someday one of these individuals will do something violent or extremely disturbing to me or one of my family members."
