1. Robert Henry Katz

Robert Henry Katz was Walters' first husband, a business executive, and a former Navy lieutenant. Walters and Katz tied the knot on June 20, 1955, in a lavish ceremony at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, according to Hollywood Life. Even though Katz had a fulfilling life, Walters was just 26 years old when she married him and was in the struggling phase of her career as a journalist.

Unfortunately, their tumultuous marriage didn’t last long and the pair filed for divorce in 1957 and had their marriage annulled in 1958. In her book, 'Audition: A Memoir' Walters recalled she regretted her relationship with Katz even before she walked down the aisle. Though she noted, he was well-to-do and was decent towards her, she also added he was difficult to talk to and that they had nothing in common.

2. Lee Guber

Walters’ second trip down the aisle was to Lee Guber. He was reportedly far more successful than Walters' first husband and was involved in the entertainment industry as a theatrical producer and theater owner. By that time Walter was too at the early stages of her career at NBC’s 'The Today Show'. Walters and Guber married on December 8, 1963, and the pair even planned of having children. Shortly, they struggled to have a child on their own, but Walters and Guber did not lose hope and explored the options of adoption.

Soon, the couple adopted a girl named Jacqueline Dena Guber when she was an infant in 1968. However, after 13 years of marriage, Walters and Guber decided to end their marriage. They divorced in 1976 when their daughter was just eight years old. Moreover, Guber died in 1988 from brain cancer at age 67.

3. Merv Adelson

The man Walters married not once but twice was Merv Adelson, a real estate developer and CEO of Lorimar Television. The pair allegedly met on a blind date and married in 1981. At that time, Walters was at the peak of her career and was getting started on '20/20', reported the source. However, the pair's marriage did not last very long, and Walters and Adelson ended up divorcing in 1984.

Furthermore, the pair's love reignited and Walters and Adelson got remarried in 1986. But sadly even though their second marriage lasted for longer this time, the pair reportedly split in 1992. However, there were no hard feelings, and Walters once described Adelson as a kind and gentle soul. “Merv was a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humor,” Walters told The New York Times. “We stayed friends long after our marriage.”
