Rodgers & Hammerstein’s 'Cinderella', the 1997 television movie starring Whitney Houston and Brandy Norwood in lead roles as Fairy Godmother and Cinderella, is now officially coming to Disney Plus. The movie is an adaptation of a story from Oscar Hammerstein II's book and features a version of Cinderella who is strong as a teenager.

Unlike the one that we know of from fairytales where Cinderella is pitied and helpless and is one of the many women who fit the distressed women looking for a knight in shining armor, Brandy as Cinderella had spunk and the cast of the film was also racially diverse. The film was directed by Robert Iscove from a script by Robert I. Freedman.
