Where are the members of Little Mix now? Here's what the girl group is up to ahead of album 'Confetti' launch
Little Mix is one of the most popular girl groups in the world. Formed in 2011 and comprising members Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson, Little Mix came into existence during the eighth season of the British version of 'The X Factor'. They have since become one of the most successful acts to emerge from 'The X Factor' and have released successful singles such as 'Wings', 'Black Magic' and 'Shout Out to My Ex'.
In the UK, their fourth album 'Glory Days' became the longest-reigning girl group #1 album since the Spice Girls' debut album 20 years earlier, and also had the highest first-week sales for a girl band since 1997. Throughout their career, the group has sold over 50 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Most recently, Little Mix released 'Confetti' in 2020. Let's take a look at what each member is doing right now.
The 27-year-old Thirlwall, apart from releasing 'Confetti' with Little Mix in 2020, most recently signed to Sony/ATV via joint venture TwentySeven as a published songwriter. She was the guest judge on the 'Girl Group Battle Royale' episode in 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK' in 2019. Then, in May 2020, it was announced that Thirlwall would be hosting an MTV web series titled 'Served!'.
In 2019, she also became a businesswoman after opening her own cocktail bar, called Red Door, in South Shields. The name was later changed to Arbeia in February 2020. Residents of South Shields praised her for improving the town's nightlife. In March 2020, her new nightclub, named Industry, launched next door to Arbeia. In June 2020, she collaborated with Skinnydip London, a British clothing brand.
She is currently in a relationship with singer Jordan Stephens. Also, in 2019, Thirlwall, along with other British celebrities, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day.
The 27-year-old Edwards has kept busy ever since the formation of Little Mix. Not only did she release 'Confetti', the group's sixth studio album this year, Edwards, in 2019, also became the new face for the Italian brand Superga and released her first designed collection of shoes. In 2020, Edwards became the first female ambassador for the brand Supreme Nutrition.
Later that year, Edwards was revealed as the new face of Nando's, a Portuguese-African food franchise. She also appeared in their television advertisements. Since February 2017, she has been dating English professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Liverpool.
The 29-year-old Pinnock is good friends with Thirlwall and is also signed to Sony/ATV as a published songwriter. She began her own swimwear range with model Gabrielle Urquhart called In'A'Seashell. Pinnock, in 2019, became the new face of the sports brand Umbro and, in April 2020, she launched a documentary with BBC detailing experiences of racism and colorism in the UK.
In November 2020, she released a style edit collection with ASOS, a British online fashion retailer, and later that month it was announced that she would make her acting debut in the upcoming Christmas film 'Boxing Day'. Pinnock has been dating professional footballer Andre Gray since 2016 and the pair became engaged on their four-year anniversary on 28 May 2020. Pinnock, along with Thirlwall and other British celebrities, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day.
The 29-year-old pop star, in 2019, presented a BBC Three documentary based on her experiences with body image and online bullying titled 'Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out', which won the Factual Entertainment Award at the 25th National Television Awards.
In 2020, Nelson said that as a child she had small roles as an extra in 'About a Boy' (2002) and 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' (2005). She was also a guest mentor on 'The Voice UK'. In November 2020, Little Mix's publicist stated that Nelson would take an extended break from the pop group for "private medical reasons".
