‘The Reunion: Laguna Beach’ trailer sees the cast reunite as drama, tensions, and emotions take over
The cast of ‘Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County’ has finally reunited after 20 years. The trailer of ‘The Reunion: Laguna Beach’ dropped on March 24 through The Roku Channel, and yes, the drama is still very much alive. The trailer wastes no time setting the mood. It opens with a glimpse at the familiar beachside bonfire, a setting once known for late-night conversations and emotional showdowns. Seated by the fire are Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, and seeing them side by side again is enough to make longtime viewers pause, because for years, their relationship was rooted in rivalry.
Cavallari breaks the silence first, turning to Conrad and saying, “We have never had a conversation on camera just the two of us. Are you ready?” “No,” Conrad replies, without missing a beat. Joining them are familiar names like Stephen Colletti, Lo Bosworth, Talan Torriero, Trey Phillips, Christina Schuller, Dieter Schmitz, Jessica Smith, and Alex Hooser. They are all stepping back into a space that once captured their teenage years in a way that was, at the time, pretty unusual. ‘Laguna Beach’ wasn’t a scripted drama with actors playing roles. It followed high school students from Southern California, and as Conrad puts it in the trailer, “It was a really weird thing we went through. Like, it's strange that people showed up at our high school and asked us to do this.”
Meanwhile, the reunion isn’t just about revisiting old clips or laughing at outdated fashion choices. The cast sits down with Casey Wilson, who guides them through conversations about what really happened back then, and how it feels looking back after two decades. There are also glimpses of cast members admitting that revisiting certain memories isn’t easy. At one point in the trailer, Colletti reflects on the experience, calling it a “serious, full-circle moment.”
The trailer captures the cast experiencing a mix of emotions, from tears to laughter, as they reconnect, hug each other, return to the bonfire, and clink glasses in a shared toast. “Did anybody think 20 years ago, when we last left the bonfire, that we were gonna come back and actually reunite here and have this moment?” Colletti asks near the end of the trailer. The cast members reply, “Never,” which pretty much sums up the fans’ emotions. ‘The Reunion: Laguna Beach’ is set to premiere on April 10 and will stream for free. According to details shared by The Roku Channel, the two-hour special will “relive moments from the show that shaped a generation.”
