'Ted Lasso' Season 4: Apple TV drops major release update on Jason Sudeikis' hit sports dramedy
Hit sports dramedy series, 'Ted Lasso' Season 4 will finally hit the streamer this summer 2026. Apple TV made the announcement earlier, while also dropping first look images from the latest instalment starring Jason Sudeikis. The images give a first glimpse of Ted as he makes his return to Richmond, gearing up for his biggest challenge yet — coaching a second division women’s football team. One of the pictures also reveals new cast member Tanya Reynolds.
Per Deadline, The other pictures introduce Ted's son, played by Grant Feely, after the character was recast ahead of the fourth season. The latest will pick up from the events of season 3, picking up from Kansas. Ted later returned to London, and the filming began last July in Kansas City. At the time of writing, the series is still in production and brings back Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift — all reprising their roles. New faces alongside Reynolds include Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Feely.
"In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team," the news release read. "Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would." Earlier, the new season added Jack Burditt to its roster of EPs. Sudeikis and Hunt serves as EPs as well along with Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel. Goldstein serves as the writer and EP alongside Leanne Bowen. Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh serve as writers and producers for season 4.
Previously, Goldstein weighed in on the streamer renewing the show for another season. "I have a friend that I went to university with, and I think about this a lot,” Goldstein told THR. "He had a cat that died. He loved his cat, and the cat was run over, and they buried the cat, buried it. And he was a child. They buried the cat in the garden, and he lay in bed so sad, so upset, and crying, and he prayed, and he prayed, and he wished. ‘I wish the cat would come back.’ And then the cat did come back, and it turned out the cat they buried wasn’t their cat. And I think about that all the time."
'Ted Lasso' Seasons 1-3 are streaming on Apple TV+.
