'Mean Girls' star Lindsay Lohan will be taking over one of the more iconic 'The Simpsons' characters. The actress will be voicing Future Maggie on the Fox animated series. Season 37's upcoming episode, titled 'Parahormonal Activity’, will see Lohan make her debut on the show.

Earlier, she took to social media saying, "Catch me on #TheSimpsons this Sunday on FOX! What a dream come true to be part of this iconic family." The post included a clip of Lohan voicing an older version of the baby. According to Deadline, fans noticed that Lohan's casting comes as a parallel to Elizabeth Taylor's voice acting as Baby Maggie in the 1992 episode, 'Lisa’s First Word.' The voice role comes amid her onscreen comeback as Anna Coleman in Disney's 'Freakier Friday'.

Earlier, 'The Simpsons' head honcho Matt Selman spoke about the landmark 800th episode coming up in February. "The trick is to tell stories that feel like they're from a show that is not in its 37th season, right? And also to avoid feeling like we're repeating ourselves, or just doing episodes that don't have a personality, or have nothing to say," Sellman told EW.

"The most important thing to like for any show, especially The Simpsons, is the state of your characters. The next most important thing is to deliver originality to the viewer. And originality usually comes from real life — the new things that have happened in real life. So like, Dad TV is a new thing. Thrifting is a relatively new phenomenon. Nostalgia for the '90s is sort of a new thing. That's our job. And that's why the premiere does that."

Selman also shed light on the show's interest in political angles. "We're not gonna do a big show where the president comes to town. We did do that, but he was George Bush, and he'd been out of office for quite some time. And, you know, we just don't do big topical things, 'cause the topical is so chaotic and nuts. So we have to look at the bigger trends."

For now, all eyes will be on Lohan as she makes her maiden debut in one of the most legendary animated shows in TV history. 'The Simpsons' Season 37 airs Sunday at 8:30/7:30c on Fox.
