His rate then saw an incline, as he went on to earn $900,000 for 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban', and a whopping $1.2M for 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2'. Apart from his earnings essaying the role of Hagrid, the actor received $50,000 for his supporting role in the 2014 film 'Effie Gray'. The actor also charged $50,000 per episode for his appearance in the sitcom, 'Lead Balloon'.
Coltrane also owns a house in a village near Glasgow estimated to be worth $3.3M. He lived there alone following his divorce from his wife, Rhona Gemmel, who left with their two children.
