Former President Barack Obama is returning to CBS ‘60 Minutes’ for an extensive interview along with 'CBS Sunday Morning" on Sunday, November 15 which will be his first set of interviews since the 2020 US Presidential election. According to the network, the former president is appearing on 60 Minutes after 12 years, last seen when Mr Obama sat down with his wife Michelle Obama after being elected as the 44th president of the United States.

Scott Pelley will be hosting the ‘60 Minutes’ interview and the former president will be talking to Gayle King for 'CBS Sunday Morning'," the network has shared. 60 Minutes is aired on CBS at 7 pm Eastern Time on Sundays. This week, on ‘60 Minutes’, the former president will be discussing his upcoming book, ‘The Promised Land’ which has been one of the most anticipated book releases to look forward to, this year.

The previews of the interview will be aired on November 13, ‘CBS This Morning’. Snippets of the interview will also be featured on all CBS News broadcast and digital platforms, along with CBS News Radio. Additionally, the interview will be featured on a primetime special on BET along with BBC. In the interview, Mr. Obama has also talked about the recent fraud claims of the election stating the claims came from the fact that "the president doesn't like to lose". "I'm more troubled by the fact that other Republican officials, who clearly know better, are going along with this," he said.

"It's one more step in delegitimizing not just the incoming Biden administration, but democracy generally, and that's a dangerous path."

The former president also talked in length on the 768 pages long memoir, where he penned down his political journey, his inception and early career in American Politics, the 2008 election, and the death of Osama Bin Laden in 2011. The book will supposedly go on to two volumes, the first of which is releasing on November 17. According to the publisher, Penguin Random House, the book will be released in 24 languages including Spanish, Chinese, Greek, and Vietnamese and 3 million copies have already been published.

In a statement regarding the memoir, Mr. Obama said, "I've spent the last few years reflecting on my presidency, and in 'A Promised Land' I've tried to provide an honest accounting of my presidential campaign and my time in office: the key events and people who shaped it, my take on what I got right and the mistakes I made, and the political, economic, and cultural forces that my team and I had to confront then — and that as a nation we are grappling with still."

The former president also shared with the nation, "There's no feeling like finishing a book, and I'm proud of this one.”
