Kira Mengistu's history with Romeo Alexander
'Bachelor in Paradise' returned on September 27, and drama ensued. Several 'Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' contestants connect outside of the series, and there's a significant probability the individuals in 'BiP' already have relationships. This season is no exception, and viewers got a taste of what's to come in Episode 1 when Kira Mengistu and Jill Chin, both from Clayton Echard's season, had a furious confrontation.
Those who saw Clayton's season of 'The Bachelor' will recall Kira and Jill avoiding most of the controversy. During filming, the two became friends, which supposedly spilled over into their regular lives after the season concluded. Jill also started something with Romeo from Michelle Young's season of 'The Bachelorette,' as Bachelor Nation is known to do. They hung together, and based on the pilot episode, Jill anticipated bonding with Romeo during 'Bachelor in Paradise.' Romeo, on the other hand, went to school with Kira, so he knew her outside of Bachelor Nation.
In February 2022, a group of Bachelor Nation members met podcaster Justin Cole Adams, the host of Justin Takes the Bach. Photographers captured images of Ivana Noble, Romeo, Kira, and another woman from Clayton's season. Kira disclosed to BachelorNation.com in April some of the men she intended to "meet" during 'Bachelor in Paradise,' including Romeo. Kira certainly had her sights set on him before she even arrived at the beach.
What happened among Kira, Jill, and Romeon on Season 8 premiere?
Romeo acknowledged Jill at the 'Bachelor in Paradise' premiere that he kissed Kira during their time together. "I didn’t know a lot of things were happening in your life," Jill responded, perplexed by the revelation. "I just wish I had a little more insight on what was going on." Throughout the night, whenever Jill and Romeo managed to get some alone time, Kira would walk in and disrupt their talk. Jill excused herself each time, hoping to avoid a major confrontation. Ultimately, Romeo told Kira that he wanted to pursue Jill rather than her, which Kira didn't like.
Kira made it clear to producers early on that she came on Bachelor in Paradise to have fun and visit the "Boom Boom Room" as many times as she could. She clearly desired a rose from Romeo, but he chose Jill instead. After Romeo told Kira that he intended to pursue Jill, Kira approached her, wondering why she avoided her. Jill acknowledged she was annoyed by Kira's continuous interruptions, which prompted her to accuse Jill of "s***-shaming" her. Jill left the session in tears, and a disgruntled Kira vented to producers.
