‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Episode 4 ending twist leaves ‘GOT’ fans with ‘goosebumps’
Although living up to the expectations created by the epic 'Game of Thrones' might be too difficult for any prequel or spinoff show in the franchise, 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' recently proved that it will certainly push the envelope in this regard. The recently aired fourth episode of the HBO show featured a distinctly cinematic passage with the Trial of Seven. In any case, nothing could have prepared the audience for the surprise reveal that came just before the combat contest.
As recounted by Wiki of Thrones, the latest episode was titled 'Seven' and presented Peter Claffey's Ser Duncan the Tall in a struggling light right from the beginning. For starters, Dunk was accused of assaulting Prince Aerion when all he did was to defend the innocent puppeteer Tanselle. As a consequence, Dunk demands trial by combat, and Aerion does him one better. The latter has his sights set on publicly humiliating Dunk, requesting the Trial of Seven from the Royal Council, and the latter obliges him promptly.
The only person who considers reaching out to Dunk in this dire hour is the heir apparent, Prince Baelor Targaryen. During his meeting with the imprisoned Dunk, Baelor tells him that his good intentions to defend Tanselle might bring out the gravest of consequences for him. Dunk, however, is confident that he did the right thing. Westeros law dictates that each side must provide seven knights to fight it out on a Trial of Seven. With the help of Egg and Baelor, Dunk is able to get a hold of six knights to fight for him.
His desperate search for the seventh knight leads Dunk to Ser Steffon Fossoway. Although Fossoway pledges his loyalty to Dunk, he betrays the latter's trust at the final moment before the fight was to commence and switches sides. However, Raymun Fossoway steps in to aid his friend in his hour of need before the trial begins formally. Once, after Ser Lyonel Baratheon grants knighthood to Raymun on the spot, Dunk is still missing a man. This is when things get interesting on the HBO show as the 'Game of Thrones' themes and sweeping cinematic shots soon herald the arrival of Baelor, who has made up his mind to fight on Dunk's behalf. The crowds are naturally surprised, and Prince Maekor and the others are outraged, but Baelor is a man of honor.

The dramatic entry of Baelor caused significant ripples in the audience, with one user taking to his X profile to write, "Crown prince baelor breakspear entrance with game of thrones main ost, I'm bawling my eyes out😭😭😭😭😭😭😭" Another user commented on Reddit, "Goosebumps, what a gorgeous cinematography and build up. Dolly zoom, music, when Lyonel was doing this ritual blows away. Egg with his head rising and then lowers in sadness. Epic ending, epic writing!!" This user was completely stunned, "The moment when Baelor declares for Ser Duncan and the GOT theme starts playing... man literal goosebumps. Moments like these are the reason why GOT is the best fiction for me."
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Collider, Claffey shed light on the exhilarating Trial of Seven sequence, "There was a lot of crowd. There were a thousand people around. You have all these horses. You have everybody dressed up as knights and in armor. There was an epicness to it. You have to deliver that, 'Are there no true knights among you?' bit, and you see the gates open. Even without the music, it did feel amazing. But I’m so glad about how that turned out with the music. It’s insane." 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' is exclusively available on HBO.
