The popular Korean app Weverse always keeps the K-pop fans updated with the latest news and updates of their favorite Korean bands but looks like they are now exploring new shores as they made a new announcement over the weekend that they will soon be getting a Lil Huddy Weverse session for the global fans.

The news, however, proved to be a bane for Weverse as K-pop fans slammed the app for picking the TikTok star whose real name is Cole Chase Hudson over K-pop bands like ATEEZ, AESPA, TWICE, and others. While a lot of social media users picked their own choice for the Weverse app, they were clearly not happy with the app opting for Lil Huddy.  The app first made headlines when K-pop fans faced a lot of glitches as they failed to get the notifications for all-girl K-pop girl band Blackpink.

Weverse welcomes Lil Huddy

The official Twitter account of Weverse posted an update on the micro-blogging site revealing Lil Huddy as their next public figure. “A global fan community for the American singer-songwriter LILHUDDY, #LILHUDDYWeverse opens on Monday, August 23, at noon! Dear LILHUDDY fans, take a step closer to #LILHUDDY on Weverse now!” As the tweet reveals, the Lil Huddy  Weverse will be opened on Monday, August 23.

The internet sensation has previously been in the news but only for the wrong reasons. The singer-songwriter with over 30 million followers on TikTok is one of the top 10 influencers on the video-sharing app. However, in 2020, Huddy got into the soup after getting canceled for allegedly cheating on his former girlfriend and fellow TikTok star Charli D’Amelio.

Huddy was also slammed last year for using the N-word in one of his old videos. He later explained to his millions of fans that he is of African heritage, which was further supported by his brother NC senior Ashu Ebot-Tabi saying, "I’m tired of all the haters online always trying to slander my brother. We practically look identical. I don’t understand what the problem is here."

‘Thought Ariana Grande would join but we got Lil Huddy’

K-pop thronged to Twitter to slam the app as soon as they got to know about the new announcement. One fan stated, “THEY COULD HAVE ADDED AESPA, ITZY, TWICE, ATEEZ, OR ONEUS BUT THEY CHOSE LILHUDDY. I AM SICK.” Whereas, another stated, “lilhuddy on weverse before a btxt collab??! what are this world come to.” And, another user added, “lil huddy on weverse before tbz ?? what? WHAT?” followed by an emoticon of a loudly crying face.

The next one trolled the app with a short video and stated “Me on my way to delete Weverse because Lil Huddy is joining.” One person tweeted, “Can’t believe lil huddy is joining weverse before we can get an update from hybe japan boys.” And, one shared, “We got lil huddy on weverse before vmin live i'm sick.” Another person asserted, “When Weverse said they were incorporating western artists, I thought Ariana grande would join but we got lil huddy.” And, one user concluded, “lil huddy would have to be the worst notif i could ever get.”
