ASBURY PARK, NEW JERSEY: Wendy Williams' younger brother accused the former talk show host of not throwing the 92nd birthday party. Tommy Williams revealed that Wendy's family celebrated their father Thomas Williams' birthday over the weekend, but the celebrity was not in attendance. The simple party Wendy's father threw on his 91st birthday last year with his famous daughter by his side was a far cry from this year's festivities.

"The focus never seemed to have gotten back to family and particularly my dad. And that's the travesty in all of this," the TV star's brother told The US Sun. "She's caught up in what everyone else is caught up in, how her life is panning out. Just be a family member, just be a daughter, but I guess she's not going to be either. I guess she's going to be a show host, but a nice role would be a daughter - because our parents have done everything for us," Tommy continued. "That's the painful part of it all and it is what it is. But it's not slowing his vitality down, or his zest for life and joy," he added.

The Wendy Experience Podcast

During her father's birthday celebration in 2022, Wendy was residing in Florida and focusing on her health following her extended sabbatical from The Wendy Williams Show, which finally marked the end of her storied television career. Tommy also inquired about the whereabouts of the host's purported podcast, which she has been promoting for close to a year. "There is still nothing new on the podcast front, so I don't know what her focus is. "Everyone has their own choice on how they want to break their bread and if she never wants to work again - that's fine too, she's in that position," Tommy said. The Wendy Experience Podcast will debut "in the next few weeks," Wendy announced when she made an appearance at a local New York radio station WBLS event back in November. But, Wendy's spokesperson recently told that they wouldn't provide a timeline and would just state "it's coming soon" in answer to a comment request.

The rep added, "Wendy's podcast is coming to life and is in its planning stage. "Wendy is enthused to get out there and is building a product that is precise and exemplifies her and the needs of her fanbase. All good things take time!" The past year has been difficult for Wendy. After many health concerns, a financial guardian was appointed to manage her funds back in May 2022. In June, she formally ceased hosting her renowned daytime talkshow. Wendy also entered a Malibu treatment facility in August for "serious alcohol consumption" and was gone for two months.

Wendy Williams' assets are managed by a guardian

The name of the guardian managing Wendy's assets was announced in December. Sabrina Morrissey is a guardianship specialist and attorney. According to several sources and court documents, the guardian has control over the assets of the 58-year-old former star of TV and consequently decides who in Wendy's social circle is entitled to receive money and payments from her income. The prestigious expert's profile praised Sabrina for her competence in "litigation, guardianships, and estate administration."

"Passionate about representing elderly clients and protecting them from fraud and abuse, she appears regularly on their behalf in the New York state courts, helping them to obtain appropriate support in the home, safeguard their assets, and plan for the future," her biography read. Wendy's ex-husband Kevin asked a judge in their divorce case to force the guardian to resume his child support payments, which stopped in February, court documents show. Her son Kevin Hunter Jr also pointed to the guardian's tight control over Wendy's funds when he was evicted from his opulent apartment in September because his mother's finances were frozen in February and he was unable to pay the high monthly rent of $6,800. The insider claimed the guardian's reasoning for cutting off the son's financial aid was so the 22-year-old "can obtain a job" even though he was not enrolled in school.

According to a source with direct knowledge of the case, Sabrina was crucial in making Wendy's recent two-month stay at a Malibu rehab center possible. Other sources claimed Wendy was receiving treatment there for "serious alcoholism" during this time. In legal files, Wells Fargo stated that they believed Wendy was the victim of "financial exploitation, dementia, or improper influence" when they froze her accounts in January.
