TULSA, OKLAHOMA: Comedian and radio DJ Gary Thompson, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, recently shared a video on his TikTok channel, which was an instant hit. The video, captioned “Middle-Aged Men Dating Twenty-Something Women,” shows Thompson explaining to his viewers the reasons why 45-year-old men like himself date women in their 20s in a brutally honest way. As the video amassed thousands of views, several TikTok users commented on it. However, one comment that stood out was, "Is this video for Leonardo DiCaprio?"

After DiCaprio called it quits with Camila Morrone in August last year after five years of dating, many people noticed a pattern. The 48-year-old actor has apparently never dated a woman above the age of 25. The ‘Titanic’ star began dating Morrone in 2017 when she was 20. DiCaprio was massively trolled for not dating anyone over 25, but later that year, there were rumors that he was "getting to know" model Gigi Hadid, breaking the 25-year-old rule.

In his TikTok video, Thompson said, "You know, I’m not gonna make friends with a lot of guys who are 45-50 years old right now with this TikTok who are dating women in their 20s, okay, because I think I figured out why we do it. At age 45, a guy my age dating a woman who’s 25 might be because I’m stuck as a man at the emotional maturity level of that 25-year-old woman. There’s nothing wrong with her being emotionally 25 if she is 25. There’s a real problem with me being emotionally 25."

Thompson further added, "If I’m 45, walking around with silver in my beard and in my hair, with my nice car, with my established job, I look like a safe place for that 25-year-old woman. She wants a guy who’s going to treat her maturely and fairly. And so she gets into the relationship with a guy who’s 45 thinking he’s going to treat her differently than that guy who’s 23 years old. No, it’s a bait and switch and it hurts worse than being hurt by a 23-year-old. Because you’re 43, 44, 45 and you still haven’t healed that wound as a man that you got when you were 23 when you came out of your first relationship."

Thompson said that middle-aged men should "stop using women who are in their 20s" and "get into therapy." "Here’s to stopping using women who are in their 20s as emotional scratching posts, guys. Instead of dating those women, get into therapy and actually become that emotionally secure, emotionally available man. And then if you still want to date somebody who’s 25, you can do that and actually give emotionally what you’re advertising with the silver in your beard. Or just date somebody your own age," said Thompson.

A lot of TikTok users agreed with Thompson's video and posted their opinions in the comments section. "Women at 45 know the games and won't tolerate it. a 25 year old will," wrote a user. "Not saying this is always the case, but it's also much easier to manipulate a younger women," added another. A user pointed out, "As an older women, I've found men around 40 start going through a mid-life crisis. They feel a need to know they still "have it.""

Meanwhile, someone hinted that the video was directed towards DiCaprio, "Is this video for Leonardo DiCaprio?" wrote the user. "The 25 year old will eventually outgrown him," added another. A brief look at DiCaprio's dating history shows that apart from Morrone, he dated Bar Refaeli until 2010, the year she turned 25. The actor also briefly dated Kelly Rohrbach in 2015, the year she turned 25, and he dated Nina Agdal from 2016 until 2017, also the year she celebrated her 25th birthday, as reported by Evening Standard.

A few months ago, a Twitter user even shared a graph of DiCaprio's dating history and wrote, "This Leonardo DiCaprio graph where he continues to get older and his girlfriends never age above 25 lives rent-free in my head."
