Is it Ashanti against JLo, Keyshia Cole or Ciara next in Verzuz battle? Fans want more R&B queens to clash

After Monica and Brandy's episode trending all over the internet, fans are demanding that more female voices of the early 2000s battle it out on the popular Instagram webcast

After the massive success of 'Verzuz Battle' between R&B queens Monica and Brandy, fans now want more female R&B superstars to collide on Timbaland and Swizz Beatz's Instagram live webcast. The live show, episodes of which previously featured rappers French Montana, Tory Lanez, T-Pain, Lil Jon, Nelly, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and 2 Chainz, is now being called on by the fans to feature 2000s R&B and soul star Ashanti opposite either Jennifer Lopez, Keyshia Cole or Ciara.

Taking to Twitter, many fans wrote they want to see more female hip-hop and R&B stars to battle it out on Verzuz. One user simply wrote: "Gimme Ashanti vs JLo".

While another expressed their desire to watch Keyshia Cole battle Ashanti.

Fans also named Ciara as a potential opponent for Ashanti, with one user urging, "Can we get a Ashanti vs Ciara battle next?"

Twitter users even tagged Verzuz and Timbaland, the man behind the concept, urging them to fulfill their wishes as soon as possible. "#Ashanti versus #Ciara <<<That would be EPIC let's do it! @Timbaland @verzuzonline @THEREALSWIZZZ," a user commented, while another added, "I want Keyshia cole vs Ashanti". 

Monica and Brandy's Verzuz Battle became the highest viewed episode of the live webcast with over 1.2 million people tuning in at one point. The event was a star-studded affair with personalities like Kamala Harris, Halle Berry, Snoop Dogg, Michelle Obama, Killer Mike, Joyner Lucas, Kehlani, Lenny Kravitz and Keyshia Cole making surprise appearances.

The event was hyped from the start given the many public feuds that Monica and Brandy were engaged in at the start of the new millennium. Now, after Monica and Brandy cleared the air about their previous feuds, fans are more than excited to see Ashanti face-off against Jeniffer Lopez as the two have had a history of falling-out going back to the controversy surrounding Lopez's number one hit single I'm Real. Also, notably, both Ashanti and JLo have delivered number one singles with rapper Ja Rule who had explained the rumor saying that Ashanti's vocals might've been used in the final mix of I'm Real.

Keyshia Cole, the voice behind hits such as Love and Let It Go, had earlier also floated rumors about challenging Ashanti to a Verzuz battle, but nothing had materialized. Ciara, the hit-maker behind Goodies, 1, 2 Step, and Oh, is also being named amongst the potential opponents of Ashanti. The two have earlier been seen together on VH1's Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Moms.

Now, after Monica and Brandy's episode trending all over the internet and fans demanding more female voices of the early 2000s to battle it out, is it only a matter of time before these wishes come true?
