LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Valerie Bertinelli posted footage from her home's surveillance camera of two individuals she believes were attempting to rob her on Instagram Stories on Wednesday, December 28. The 62-year-old posted a video of two men loitering on her property, with one seen wearing what seemed to be a work uniform and carrying many bags and a backpack at 1.14 am on Wednesday, December 28.

"We've had a string of robberies in my neighborhood," Bertinelli said in her post, after announcing last month that she was "officially f***ing divorced" from ex-husband Tom Vitale. She added, "This is one of the men that came to scope out my house."

The 'Hot in Cleveland' star believes the man was deterred by the flash of a camera. "I think he stops because he sees my camera lit up," Bertinelli stated, adding that "the other one came an hour before him. F***ing scary." Following that, the actress also shared a shot of what appeared to be a different man wearing a hat and carrying a backpack. According to the Food Network celebrity, "the police came around pretty quickly and checked around the houses."

Bertinelli stated that she intends to take further security measures to safeguard herself and her property. "I'm installing more motion detector lights and thinking of putting barbed wire on my front fence," she stated. "And of course my alarm gets set every night." Bertinelli's Instagram post comes towards the close of a year in which a number of celebrities were victims of burglary.

Burglars target celebrity homes

As reported by MEAWW earlier, Mariah Carey's Atlanta home was broken into and burglarized while she was on vacation in Italy in July. According to Page Six, Carey, with her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka and their children, were traveling to Italy and the Hamptons on July 27, 2022, when the break-in happened in Atlanta.

In another MEAWW report, a serial burglar was caught raiding Robert De Niro’s Upper East Side townhouse on December 19. The burglar made a holiday break-in and attempted to steal gifts placed around the Christmas tree in his home, and fiddled around with the actor's iPad, as per law enforcement. The sources said that the burglar, identified as Shanice Aviles, broke into De Niro's townhouse around 2.30 am and was caught red-handed during the burglary at the residence located on East 65th Street near Park Avenue, according to the New York Post.

Arsenio Hall had terrible luck as burglars broke in not once but twice while the Hollywood star was still home. The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, Sept. 17, at around 11 am, when the 'Coming to America' actor reportedly heard sounds coming from downstairs of his Los Angeles house. Arsenio found that his sliding door's glass had been damaged, apparently in an attempt to gain entry, as reported by TMZ.

Alarmingly, the LAPD claimed that a similar attempt occurred just in August month, alleging that two suspects broke a window in the actor's residence and entered around the back of the building but thankfully the suspects left empty-handed.
