Robert De Niro, 79, and rumored 'girlfriend' Tiffany Chen 'bonds with his autistic son and daughter'
NEW YORK CITY, NY: Robert De Niro has been successful in Hollywood for a long time, but his personal life has been more challenging than his professional one in many respects. Despite having children together, De Niro and his estranged wife, Grace Hightower, were anything but happy, and De Niro quickly applied for a divorce. They share two children, son Elliot, born in 1998, and daughter Helen, born in 2011.
The 79-year-old 'The Godfather' actor and Hightower are still involved in a lengthy legal battle concerning the divorce settlement and the custody of his children, but he appears to have found happiness in his rumored new love interest, Tiffany Chen, whom he met in the sets of 'The Intern' in 2015. They have not yet publicly acknowledged their relationship, but they have been spotted together numerous times, looking very much in love, according to AmoMama.

Chen seems to spend a lot of time with De Niro and his children, and he seems content. Recently, Chen was spotted with De Niro and his daughter, Helen, on the sets of a movie, reported Daily Mail. Chen and Helen were seen walking together next to a trailer holding hands. This is not the only instance of her being close to De Niro's children. The couple was also seen with three of De Niro's children (including his 27-year-old son, Julian De Niro) in New York.
De Niro and Hightower's divorce process, which started in 2018, is yet to reach a final settlement. De Niro, though, hasn't let this tragic situation affect him too much. He revealed that his son, Elliot, has autism. "Grace and I have a child with autism and we believe it is critical that all of the issues surrounding the causes of autism be openly discussed and examined," De Niro had told People.
"Everybody’s in New York and, hopefully, my younger kids will go to college in New York and find something they want to do so they’ll stay in the city," De Niro told the Los Angeles Times. "I like the kids to be around. If they want to go to college here and live at home, I won’t have a problem with that."
