This article contains spoilers for 'Vagrant Queen' Season 1 Episode 1 'A Royal Ass-Kicking'.

The first episode of Syfy's new series 'Vagrant Queen' is here and it's absolutely breathtaking! This is by far one of the best new shows we've seen this year and it couldn't have come at a better time.

With the coronavirus pandemic sweeping across the world, we've all been desperately looking for shows to keep us entertained while we stay in self-isolation. They say in the darkest of times, a show shall arise to raise spirits and distract us all from the monotony of everyday life and 'Vagrant Queen' happens to be just that show.

Without giving away too much of the plot, the show's season premiere includes annoying aliens with a love of karaoke, a space station with more fugitives than law-abiding citizens aboard, a lovable mechanic, a deadbeat from Canada, and a conspiracy that could change the fate of the galaxy. Not your galaxy, a different one, as the show insists.

Effects and costumes on the show are all extremely low-budget but at no point does that make it unwatchable. In fact, all those elements actually blend in well with the snarky and irreverent tone that carries the whole story forward.

The show is hilarious, entertaining, and at no point does it stop engaging the viewer's attention. We don't know about you but we're definitely going to be eagerly waiting for this show to drop new episodes every week.

The cast of 'Vagrant Queen' includes Adriyan Rae as Elida, Tim Rozon as Isaac, and Alex McGregor as Amae with Paul du Toit ('Maze Runner') appearing as the deliciously villainous Commander Lazaro. Here's the official synopsis for the series: "'Vagrant Queen' follows Elida from child queen to orphaned outcast, as she scavenges the treacherous corners of the galaxy, always one step ahead of the republic government out to extinguish her bloodline."

"When her old friend Isaac shows up claiming her mother Xevelyn is still alive, they head off with their new ally Amae to stage a rescue that will take her back into the perilous heart of her former kingdom and up against a deadly foe from her childhood, Commander Lazaro," it adds.

'Vagrant Queen' airs new episodes on Syfy Fridays at 10 pm ET/PT.
