‘Daredevil: Born Again’ fans have bittersweet update about highly anticipated Episode 7
Season 2 of 'Daredevil: Born Again' has kept the audience on the edge. The conflict between Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), and Daredevil, aka Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), has reached its zenith, and something's definitely got to give. Jessica Jones' (Krysten Ritter) entry in episode 6 has already raised the stakes. Episode 7 could be one of the most highly anticipated installments of this season. However, the audience has received a sad update about this installment. As per reports, episode 7 titled ‘The Hateful Darkness’ will break a particular show record, but it is not something fans will be joyous about.
Episode 7 will be the shortest one in this season. It will be just 44 minutes long. The episode is seven minutes shorter than the longest ones in the second season, which ran for approximately 51 minutes. It is easy to understand why viewers are disappointed with the runtime. It has been a long wait for the fandom, to say the least. The revival series came back eight years after the original Netflix series was canceled. Furthermore, the second season of 'Daredevil: Born Again' also took around a year to return.
The good thing is that a short runtime suggests that the several ongoing plot lines will reach a crisp climax. Six episodes released to date have put many things into motion. Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) is under the custody of AVTF (Anti-Vigilante Task Force) after failing to kill Benjamin 'Dex' Poindexter, aka Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), and Daniel Blake (Michael Gandolfini) has finally come face-to-face with BB Urich (Genneya Walton). The situation has turned extremely gory and dangerous, with AVTF attacking the very civilians they are supposed to protect during a peaceful protest. Fisk has also turned to his most volatile self after losing the love of his life, Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer). All these conflicts are heading towards an epic conclusion in the remaining two episodes. Considering the runtime of episode 7, proceedings will be fast-paced with the showrunners getting right down to it.
Several speculations have undoubtedly made fans excited about the upcoming episodes. They are waiting eagerly to find out who will be the victor between Daredevil and Kingpin. As per a deleted Instagram post by Mike Colter, who played Luke Cage, the showdown may end with Matt Murdock in prison, according to Ringer. This also suggests that a 'Defenders' reunion is on the cards in the show. Jones has already entered the proceedings, and as per recent sightings, both Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Luke Cage will also join soon. It is yet to be revealed whether the reunion will happen in season two or in season three, which is currently in production. 'The Hateful Darkness' is expected to drop on April 28, 2026, on Disney+.
