It's the second day of 2022 and supermodel Tyra Banks has shot into prominence once again, but for all the wrong reasons. The former host of 'America's Next Top Model' was lambasted brutally after an old video from the show resurfaced on social media. In the undated video clip from Cycle 11 of ANTM, Tyra Banks can be seen talking to Black model Joslyn Pennywell. She praises her resilience and strength and calls her a survivor, while Joslyn appears visibly emotional. Moments later, Tyra tells her, "Joslyn, you'll be able to survive this," as she reveals that she has been eliminated.

The clip ends with Joslyn having a breakdown while fellow contestant Elina Ivanova got the chance to move ahead in the competition. The video was shared by a user who tweeted, "ANTM is a psychological thriller," while another remarked that the fashion reality show was Tyra Banks' personal 'Squid Game'. Viewers slammed Tyra Banks for poorly treating a Black contestant and dubbed her 'evil' for such shocking mind games.

Tyra Banks happened to be the face of the popular reality show 'America's Next Top Model' that ran over a decade from 2003 to 2018. She was the main judge as well as the executive producer of the show. In fact, Banks earned over $30 Million per season of ANTM and amassed a net worth of around $90 Million. She also sparked controversy recently after reports surfaced that she paid contestants a meager amount of $40 per day on the show while reaping profits herself.

Since her retirement from ANTM, Banks has been an active part of 'Dancing With The Stars' where she garnered controversy time and again. She has also started her personal ice cream brand SMiZe Cream. She is presently focused on her business that offers 'Super Premium Ice Cream' flavors created in collaboration with ice cream scientist Dr Maya Warren. "From purple cookies & cream to Strawberry BirthYAY! Cake to classic vanilla to brownie-loaded chocolate, this might just be the best & most exciting ice cream you’ll ever try — and it’s being delivered straight to your doorstep!" reads the description on SMiZe Cream's website.

Banks has not responded to the backlash online but it seems that fans are not ready to let her off that easy. "This is sadistic. Tyra must be brought up on charges," a Twitter user remarked while sharing the viral video clip. Another noted, "Tyra Banks is evil and enjoyed torturing these girls through and through. I watched some videos from some of the models she worked with and they all had horrific things to say about her...as if what we witnessed on her show wasn't horrendous enough."

One user even pitched the idea for a documentary called 'Surviving Tyra Banks'. "All I’m saying is that a documentary called “Surviving Tyra Banks” would have my attention," they tweeted.
