Twenty One Pilots 'Christmas Saves The Year': Surprise single summarizes 2020, fans call it a 'mood'

Twenty One Pilots is here to spread holiday cheer with a brand new original single ‘Christmas Saves The Year’, which has been written and recorded at the home of lead vocalist Tyler Joseph, the band has shared. Fans have taken to social media to clarify, it is actually Twenty One Pilots who saved Christmas with their surprise single, which truly summarises the year.

Twenty One pilots dropped the single through Twitter with a note that read, "an original twenty one pilots Christmas song written and recorded in tyler’s home studio. from us to you, merry Christmas.”

The song truly represents 2020 when the chorus sings, "But everybody wants to make it home this year/Even if the world is crumblin' down/'Cause everybody's got somebody who's got their name on a shelf/With cheap décor and flavored cheer/You rest assured that Christmas saves the year."

Twenty One Pilots dropped the single after a Fortnite stream where the vocalist Joseph has been spending a lot of time as he talked about his love for the Chipotle Challenger Series of Fortnite. The ‘Ride’ singer named his holiday special Twitch stream “Tyler’s Christmas Party” where he faced off pro-players in Fortnite match-offs. His band member Josh also joined the Twitch stream. Fans were endeared when Jenna, Tyler’s wife appeared in the stream with their newborn daughter, Rosie. A fan shared, ‘thanks for the rosie content.”

Another fan shared, “Mood: TWENTY ONE PILOTS SAVES THE YEAR.” A fan posted, “This is my life right now, twenty one pilots and wine from a jar of peas because i don't have no longer glasses  to be used at the moment..” A user said, “thanks, i never thought i'd be needing twenty one pilots christmas song untill now.” A user commented, “the new twenty one pilots christmas single is pretty good but its still not twenty one pilots. i hope they can go back to a style similar to blurry face or earlier for their next album.” A fan said, “Today I realised how much I wanted that stream from twenty one pilots because I couldn’t stop smiling this whole morning. Twenty One Pilot last released an album Trench, on October 5, 2018. Their fourth album ‘Blurryface’ (2015) remains the band’s most successful one, which produced two successful singles, "Stressed Out" and "Ride", and became the first album in history in which every track earned at least a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.
