'Perfect Match' star Bryton Constantin reduces Dominique Defoe to tears with scathing critique
TULUM, MEXICO: In the first episode of 'Perfect Match' Season 2, all the couples were seen competing in their first compatibility challenge.
"Today, we're gonna test your physical chemistry. Now behind me, you see a not-so-small game called Motion in the Ocean. The objective is pretty simple. It's a race to see which couple can get their platform from a starting line on one end of the structure to the finish line on the other," host Nick Lachey explained the challenge.
Lachey added, "The first couple to propel the platform across the structure and pull the ring will be today's winner of the compatabiility challenge."
Harry Jowsey and his partner Elys Hutchinson emegered as the winners of the first compatblity challenge. Dominique Defoe and Bryton Constantin, on the other hand, were disappointed with their second-place finish.
In a confessional after the challenge, Dominique said, "I feel like it's not about winning. You know what I mean? Like it's about the communication between us. You're just like so busy looking to see what the next person is doing. And it's like you don't take a breath and hear me. We could've been dead last. I don't feel like you're listening to what I'm saying."
Bryton chimed in, "So the only reason we weren't dead last is because I looked and saw what they were doing and I copied what they were doing. Our plans, your plan, or my plan was not working."
Dominque went on to say, "My plan was to do the exact same thing that they did," to which Bryton replied, "So we had more than one plan, correct?"
The brunette beauty said, "Stop talking down to my face," meanwhile, Bryton added, "I'm not, but did we have more than one plan? Yes or no. That's all I'm asking. Did we have more than one plan."
Soon after, Dominique broke down in tears and said, "I literally feel like you're speaking down to me. It's not even about the challenge. It's just about like everything. I feel like it's a constant tug of war for like you wanna be in control. You wanna feel you have the power of the conversation, where we are."
