SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Australian crime series 'Troppo' has returned with another season on Prime Video, on July 25, 2024.

The series follows the story of private investigators Ted Conkaffey and Amanda Pharrell who come together to solve crimes while dealing with their own traumatic pasts.

Based on Candice Fox's best-selling novel 'Crimson Lake', the series features Thomas Jane and Nicole Chamoun in leading roles.

Season 2 opened with Ted visiting his estranged wife's house on their daughter's 10th birthday. However, the celebrations were interrupted as the local police arrived to raid the house.

If you have watched Season 1, you would recall that Ted Conkaffey is a disgraced ex-cop. He was accused of the kidnapping and raping of a 13-year-old girl.

Though all the charges against him were dropped due to the lack of any evidence, he continued to suffer the consequences. Not only did this case destroy his career, it also damaged his marriage.

Amanda and Ted, who work as Private investigators have been taking up murder cases in town while Ted's own case hasn't reached a conclusion yet.

In Season 2 Episode 1, the local cops harass him by raiding his house in the name of "new evidence" and beating him in front of his daughter. Ted has made peace with the fact that his life is never going to be the same as it was before the accusation.

In Episode 2, when Amanda learns about the raid, she asks him to investigate his own case. However, Ted asserts that he had attempted it already when he had the badge and the case files.

With no resources at his disposal now, it is much more difficult to find the real culprit. However, Amanda reassures him that he has her support now.

We hope that Ted considers Amanda's offer and resumes the investigation of his own case. He misses being with his family and their arrival in town might prompt him to give a try one last time to restore his dignity.
