YG Entertainment's newest group, Treasure, has finally made their debut. Despite a few roadblocks and stumbles, this 12-member boy group has arrived and is making it abundantly clear they have what it takes to make it in the fast-paced K-pop industry.

Treasure has not had the easiest road to their debut. The group originally consisted of 13 members, selected via the show YG Treasure Box, but they lost one member early on when Yoonbin decided the group's musical direction did not align with his own goals. Following that, the group's May-July comeback saw delays, and they found themselves on the receiving end of the internet's wrath for a variety of reasons, ranging from criticism against YG's management of their other artistes to more superficial comments about the looks of Treasure's members.

The group has, nonetheless, powered through and it has turned into quite the blessing for their loyal fans, one of whom shared, "Treasure, I am so proud of you. After all these years of proving your legacy in every way possible, and moving a generation of both people and Teumes to become just like you, you have obtained the most anticipated debut which you are so long overdue for." Certainly a valid sentiment, given the pre-sales for the group's debut release skyrocketed them to the top of the best for best-selling rookies of 2020.

Apart from achieving incredible sales figures, Treasure also racked up millions of views for their pre-debut VLive. As one fan noted, "Tf treasure got 3 millions views on their first debut vlive ! INDEED MONSTER ROOKIE."

'Boys' is the group's debut single and is the title track off their debut single album 'The First Step: Chapter One'. The group has previously put out a string of teasers, in addition to a pre-release single from member Yedam titled 'Wayo' and other content such as dance covers. But with their single album and music video, Treasure has made their first major mark on the K-pop music industry in their endeavor for wider, global success. And it's a solid debut from the boy group too, seeing that it is an extremely powerful and catchy track that showcases the wide range of skills they possess.

Fans are in awe of the group's debut, and the views on Treasure's 'Boy' is climbing steadily towards the 500,000 mark in its first 10 minutes. One fan shared, "I AM SOOO PROUDDDD!! IS THIS WHAT PARENTS FEEL FOR THEIR CHILD? IM SO HAPPY THAT I MIGHT CRY."

It appears Treasure is ready to take over as the true "monster rookies" that they are, even in the face of naysayers. As one fan noted, "Treasure f*****g killed their debut. It's crazy good. I love it so much. I didn't expect it to be this good. Holyyyyy s**t."
