Jason Katims, Matt Reeves and Andrew Hinderaker team up for a 10-episode Netflix drama series that chronicles the first manned mission to Mars, based loosely on a recent Esquire story by Chris Jones. Hilary Swank leads the cast as the astronaut in charge of the year-long international mission, while Josh Charles plays her husband (and NASA engineer) left behind on Earth to care for their teenage daughter. Ed Zwick directs the pilot.

'Power Book II: Ghost' on Sunday, September 6

'Power Book II: Ghost' is the first of four planned spinoffs from the recently concluded Starz original series 'Power', and stars Mary J Blige, Method Man, Sherri Saurn, Shane Johnson, Naturi Naughton and Michael Rainey Jr. The show picks up just after the events of the Power finale. The episodes will air on Sundays at 8 pm on Starz. 

'American Ninja Warrior' on Monday, September 7

The long-running competition series' 12th season will debut on NBC soon. The season will comprise of eight episodes. It is the first NBC series to complete a full season during the coronavirus pandemic.

'Pool Boy Nightmare' on Monday, September 7

This sounds fun, doesn't it? According to the IMDb synopsis, "The story follows Gale as she has a brief affair with pool cleaner Adam, but quickly turns down his continued advances. Insulted at being rejected, Adam starts dating Gale's high school-age daughter, Becca, using her as an unsuspecting pawn in a twisted game of revenge." Tune in to Lifetime at 8 pm.

'Cuties' on Wednesday, September 9

Amy, an 11-year-old girl, joins a group of dancers named "the cuties" at school, and rapidly grows aware of her burgeoning femininity - which infuriates her mother and unsettles her values in the process. The film will air on Netflix.

After much stalling, 'LA's Finest' will be returning to Spectrum this month, and we are guaranteed much action and well, a little bit of romance, going by the looks of it. The new season was originally slated to release in June, but it had to be delayed in the wake of civil unrest sparked by police violence that led to George Floyd and Breonna Taylor’s deaths earlier this year.

'Woke' on Wednesday, September 9

Lamorne Morris stars in this comedy about a Black cartoonist living in San Francisco who has an encounter with cops that changes his life forever. The semi-autobiographical series from real-life cartoonist Keith Knight (The K Chronicles) mixes some animated sequences with live action. It will air on Hulu.

'Julie And The Phantoms' on Thursday, September 10

High School Musical director Kenny Ortega returns with a new musical series for Netflix about a high school singer who rekindles her love of music after being approached by the ghosts of three dead '90s pop stars. It's based on a Brazilian series.

'The Duchess' on Friday, September 11

Comedian Katherine Ryan has created as well as starred in this Netflix comedy series in which she stars as a single mother searching for a man to father her second child.

'9/11: The Final Minutes of Flight 93' on Friday, September 11

Catch this sombre documentary on History Channel at 8 pm.
