2020 has been an exhausting year, but we're very nearly at the end of it. November is getting a headstart on the year's end, as Christmas season starts with a full complement of movies celebrating the holidays. While it's not all Christmas, the holiday still dominates movies both new and old coming to Netflix this November and we take a look at the top 10 movies to wait for.

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square (2020)



 

Dolly Parton brings a Christmas musical to the small screen, starring herself as a Christmas Angel and Christine Baranski as a Scrooge-like businesswoman named Regina Fuller intent on selling a small town with no consideration for those who are living there. Featuring 14 original songs by Dolly Parton herself and releasing on November 22, the film sees the Angel attempt to convince Regina to look beyond the bottom line and to help out a town filled with good people.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (2020)



 

Starring Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, and Phylicia Rashad, this film follows the story of a magical toymaker betrayed by one of his old apprentices, losing nearly everything that was dear to him. However, one of his most magical inventions still remains his and with the help of his adventurous granddaughter, this magical invention is going to change the lives of nearly everyone for the better, just in time for the Christmas season. Wait to see it, this November 13.

Citation (2020)



 

It's not all Christmas fun, next month, however, as Netflix continues to deliver hard-hitting movies alongside its more holiday-themed selection on November 6. Starring Jimmy Jean-Louis and Temi Otedola, the movie looks at how "a bright student in Nigeria takes on the academic establishment when she reports a popular professor who tried to rape her."

Operation Christmas Drop (2020)



 

What's more in the Christmas spirit than watching a strict, no-nonsense person slowly thaw out and warm to the large-heartedness of someone enjoying the holidays? The film, releasing on November 5, stars sees a by-the-book Congresswoman Erica Miller (Kat Graham) collecting evidence on a tropical military base, who is slowly charmed by the joyful Captain Andrew Jantz (Alexander Ludwig).

Prospect (2018)



 

Starring Pedro Pascal, Sophie Thatcher and Jay Duplass and releasing on November 2, this 2018 sci-fi flick sees a teenage girl and her father travel to the moon of an alien planet, fulfilling a contract to gather rare gems. While there, however, the pair find that the moon's forest is a lot more dangerous than they bargained for, and the father's greed is about to get them into even more trouble.

Elliot the Littlest Reindeer (2018)



 

Coming November 1, this animated film stars Morena Baccarin, Josh Hutcherson and John Cleese. When famed reindeer Blitzen announces his retirement from pulling Santa's sleigh, a horse named Elliot sees his chance to move up to the big leagues, even though the rest of Santa's team are exclusively reindeer. Elliot doesn't let this stop him, as he sets out to prove once and for all that no dream is too big.

Christmas Break-In (2018)



 

Releasing November 1, this Christmas tale stars Denise Richards, Cameron Seely and Donald Glover, featuring a 'Home Alone' style story for an all-new era. When an energetic 9-year-old is trapped in school during a blizzard, it's up to her to foil a pair of burglars who have kidnapped her school janitor.

Mosul (2020)

Produced by the Russo brothers and featuring the directorial debut of Matthew Carnahan, this action war movie is based on a true story. The film portrays the events of the Nineveh SWAT team, who were a renegade unit that waged their own guerilla operation on ISIS, hoping to save their home city of Mosul from the terrorist organization. 

Alien Xmas (2020)

Another feel-good Christmas movie for the year, 'Alien Xmas' sees a group of aliens who are trying to steal Earth's gravity during the holidays. It's up to an alien named X, voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, to save the world and stop the invading aliens from destroying life on Earth and saving Chrismas just in time.

Hillbilly Elegy (2020)



 

Starring Amy Adams and based on the best-selling book of the same name, this film comes to Netflix on November 24 and features director Ron Howard's Netflix debut. The movie follows a small-town Kentucky family as they struggle to deal with poverty, their family history and the American Dream.
