Truth be told, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was a game that should have never faded away. And with the remastered game back in action, the buzz on Twitter is an example of how classics never run out. 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 launches September 4 on PS4, Xbox One, and is a remake of the first two Tony Hawk games. This time it's loaded with some state-of-the-art visuals and that was one of the highlights as fans took to social media raving about the gameplay.

"Friendship ended with Mario. Tony Hawk is my new best friend," read one of the tweets.

"The only highly-anticipated game collection of a beloved franchise coming out this September that I'M going to be buying is obviously...Tony Hawk 1+2 im, not jokin im hyped," wrote one of the fans.

One of the major talking points was the introduction of a trans athlete. "Tony Hawk, everybody’s favorite skate dad, has a game out and it’s the first sports game to feature a trans athlete. 2020 ain't all bad," opined one of the fans.

The Verge's Andrew Webster said "Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 nails that balance: it might just be the perfect video game remaster," while IGN's Luke Reilly called it "an absolutely rip-roaring remake." The OG 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 was and still is regarded as one of the greatest sports video games that had ever been made and is still rated as an all-time classic. For some fans, the remaster release was just what the doctor ordered.

"Tony hawk pro skater 1&2 coming to save us all from this shitty year like.. #THPS," read one of the comments.

"You should play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater because, um, it's not boring... it's wild and crazy... aaand there's a possibility that you can shred to the song Closer by Nine Inch Nails," a fan remarked.

Back in '99, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater was the third highest-selling PS platform game in the United States. It shipped in excess of 350,000 units and was available in over 10,000 retailers nationwide and the numbers with the remaster release will most definitely match up following the positive reception.

To end with, here's a fan who had a tough time making up his mind: "My Tony Hawk 1 & 2 Remastered game is now installed and ready to play! BUT.....the wife also wants "Special Time" right now. What to do, what to do...."
