Toni Collette shares eerie posts on Instagram following split from husband Dave Galafassi after 19 years
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Toni Collette took to Instagram to share an eerie message with her followers after the announcement of her divorce from Dave Galafassi after 19 years of marriage. The 'Hereditary' actress and her former spouse announced their separation after pictures of him kissing another woman surfaced online.
The 50-year-old actress posted a picture of a building with the words "LOVE IS THE ANSWER" painted on the wall to her Instagram feed on December 9. Fans flocked to the comments section to offer support even though she left her post without a caption. As per AceShowbiz, one user commented, "You got this, Toni [black heart emoji]." another user wrote,"Big hugs to you. Grant yourself a big dose of self-care. So many of us are part of your tribe, "We are here for you, we support you, and we want you to know that you will survive, and you'll emerge stronger than ever." Another user reminded Toni that "love conquers everything !!"

The post was not the only cryptic message the actress had shared with her followers. Earlier the same day, she posted a painting of a lone tree in a field, that was dark and unsettling, and without a caption, which also sent her followers into a tailspin.
In a joint statement released on Toni's Instagram account, they announced that their decision to formally break their 20-year marriage came "after a substantial period of separation" and that they "will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape." Despite parting ways, the ex-couple stated that their children, son Arlo Robert, 11, and daughter Sage Florence, 14, are "of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit in a different shape."
In pictures released by the Daily Mail on December 7, Galafassi was seen packing in the PDA with "integrative chiropractor" Shannon Egan while swimming in the water in Manly, New South Wales, Australia. Galafassi and Collette have not yet commented on the photos.
Collette and Galafassi reportedly met for the first time in 2002 at the launch of Galafassi's band's debut album 'Metal Detector' in Sydney and got married in January 2003 and have two children together, daughter Sage, 14, and son Arlo, 11. “I have lived in so many different places and we, as a family, are incredibly adaptable and able to set up house anywhere when I’m working,” the actress gushed about her family life in a November 2019 interview with the Sydney Morning Herald. “But that feeling of home is a feeling you can’t fabricate, and when I get home to Sydney that feeling is very strong. It was really all about being with our tribe, the people we love, and enjoying Sydney.”
She added, “Of course, we try to make sure [my movies] shoot during the school holidays but sometimes life doesn’t really work out that way, so then it’s just one foot in front of the other. I ask my friends how to balance things and they say, ‘You’re doing it.’ But I don’t feel like I’m doing it very well. In the end, all that matters is that everyone feels safe and loved and grounded.”
