LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Toni Collette and her husband Dave Galafassi have announced their divorce. The couple has been together for almost 20 years. On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the actress shared a joint statement on her Instagram feed, "It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing. We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other."
Further, she added, "Our kids are of paramount importance to us, and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit in a different shape. We’re thankful for the space and love you grant us as we evolve and move through this transition peacefully. Big thanks. Toni Collette and David Galafassi."

According to Page Six, the news of the couple's split comes amid rumors of Galafassi kissing a mystery woman, who was later identified as a chiropractor named Shannon Egan, 41, during an early morning dip in Manly, New South Wales, Australia. The couple reportedly met for the first time in 2002 at the launch of Galafassi's band's debut album 'Metal Detector' in Sydney. However, they later met at a house party, reported Daily Mail. The former couple tied the knot in a private Buddhist ceremony on January 11, 2003, on her property at Berry on the NSW south coast. Toni and Galafassi also share two adorable children, a daughter named Sage Florence, 14, and a son named Arlo Robert, 11.
According to Daily Mail, Toni and Galafassi have been quite private about their marriage. However, the 50-year-old actress once claimed, "He was the first person I saw when I walked in the door. He kissed me on the cheek, and I just kind of melted. I planned to stay for ten minutes… I was there for 12 hours. It was a good day."
In 2006, they also started a band called 'Toni Collette & the Finish' with Glenn Richards, David Lane, Pete Farley, and Amanda Brown as other members. They toured across Australia from the end of 2006 to early 2007. The band also produced an album titled 'Beautiful Awkward Pictures'. The album was also nominated for the AIR awards in 2007.
Toni and Galafassi have been splitting their time in Sydney and Los Angeles recently.
