Tom Grennan is back! Singer returns with a bang with new single 'This Is The Place'

The young indie-pop star Tom Grennan is back in a big way! The singer-songwriter, known for his powerful, soaring vocals, took to social media last week to announce that his new comeback single 'This Is The Place' would be the first track to drop from his upcoming album this year, and that it would release on January 20. And it's finally here now!
The 24-year-old artiste made the big announcement on Twitter a few hours ago, saying "THIS IS THE PLACE IS OUTTT! Go watch it, share it and enjoy it. I'm backkk, baby!"
This single signifies the first new material we've heard from Grennan since his 2018 debut album, 'Lighting Matches'. The breakout album, which hit the Top 5 in the UK album charts, included the hits 'Sober', 'Found What I've Been Looking For', 'Barbed Wire' and 'Something In The Water'.
Grennan had been teasing his new music for a while now. He'd earlier revealed, “Album two is coming along nicely. When I get back from LA, I’m going to start recording. I want bigger and better songs, bigger production. This time round, I want to go epic.” And it certainly sounds epic to us! This new song is a certified banger - have a listen to it here!
Speaking about the new track 'This Is The Place', which is a love song, Grennan said: “This song is about finding a place of complete calm and escaping utter chaos and carnage. My happy place, my go-to place! Whether it’s on my own or with the person I love. The song documents the kind of journey I go on to get there, and one that I would make any time of the day to reach a serene and cleansing state of mind.”
The singer also shot a new music video for the track in South Africa and that will be releasing on February 24. The 'Barbed Wire' singer admitted that it was difficult to sit on his new material once it was complete, saying: "It's been so hard, to know that there's really good songs in the bank - but patience is key, man. I'm usually like a dog with a bone, I want, want, want, and I want it now. But good things come when patience has been sat on."
Next up, Grennan will be performing at the BRITs Week with War Child series on February 19. Tickets are going on sale via a raffle at the BRITS Week War Child website with the entrance fee costing £5 ($6.50).
