LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: It looks like a feud is brewing between Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt after the former was not nominated for the Golden Globes for his performance in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’. It has been said that the 60-year-old is holding Pitt responsible for the dishonor.

An insider told Radaronline.com, “Tom expected to walk away with the award for best actor, so you can imagine his reaction when he wasn't even on the list — he totally blew a fuse. This was the first time in years that Tom was so sure he had a slam-dunk win he was fine-tuning his acceptance speech.”

The insiders also mentioned how the ‘Mission Impossible’ star returned his three Golden Globes last year. This was reportedly in protest against the award show’s administration Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which found itself embroiled in controversy for “a lack of diversity in its voting body and ethical lapses,” USA Today reported.

A source reportedly said, “He took a stand and no doubt it didn't go over well with them. A lot of people are convinced that's the real reason he was snubbed.” They added Cruise is apparently hurt at Pitt’s nomination for ‘Babylon’. “It stinks that Brad, once again, seems to have milked his relationship with the foreign journalists at the Globes to get his own movie — which many consider way inferior to Top Gun — a ton of nods. As far as Tom's concerned, this snub is all Brad's fault!” the insider said.

This comes after Cruise expressed his love and gratitude towards his fans for the success of ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, which earned more than $200 million in the initial few days. He shared a video on his Instagram page that showed him up in the sky. The ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ actor said, “I didn't want the year to end without thanking you all for coming out to the theater, and thank you for supporting Top Gun: Maverick.”

The social media share received over 600k likes and lots of comments with a fan saying, “Top Gun: Maverick is my #1 film of 2022. I'm really excited for Mission: Impossible 7 and 8!” Another wrote, “Tom Cruise saving the whole movie industry with risking his own life to entertain..! Rest of the movie world, take a note!” A third said, “Excellent actor and role model, whatever he applies himself to he gives 200%. His work is amazing. Looking forward to the next MI movie.”

“This man just jumped out of a helicopter while talking into a camera like he was reclining in a lazy boy on a Sunday afternoon,” another comment read. Someone added, “Top gun and top gun maverick literally made my spark bigger to join the Air Force always loved watching jets fly where my father works when the p-51 showed up I was super happy. I watched ever mission impossible movie sadly haven’t had time to watch the new one tho. Love your work Tom:)!!”
