'Welcome to Plathville' star Kim Plath arrested for DUI months after announcing divorce
CRAWFORDVILLE, FLORIDA: In a shocking development, TLC's 'Welcome to Plathville' star Kim Plath was arrested on Thursday, October 20 after a DUI warrant was issued as per Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office. The 50-year old was counted for driving under the influence, property damage and personal injury.
Earlier, Kim was charged with careless driving in June and had received a $161 fine, which remains due. She was later been released from custody. Her legal troubles come four months after she announced her split from husband Barry Plath.

While speaking to the US Magazine, Kim said in a joint statement, “After considerable thought and discussion, we have decided to end our marriage,” adding, “While this was not an easy decision, we know it’s the best choice for both of us. We have been through many highs and lows in our 24 years of marriage and as we navigate this new chapter in our lives, we will co parent our amazing children.”
Both are parents to Ethan, 24, Hosanna, 23, Micah, 21, Moriah, 20, Lydia, 18, Isaac, 16, Amber, 13, Cassia, 11, and Mercy, 9. They rose to fame after starring in their reality show in November 2019. The series focused on the family’s life in rural Georgia and the strict rules of their house such as no television or drinking soda.
During season 4, Kim revealed that the couple had decided to part ways and she was living seperately. As the series progressed, Kim moved back into the Plath family house, for the sake of the girls. She made it clear that although she and Barry are now living under the same roof, it did not change the status of their relationship. She explained that Barry gave her the master bedroom, while he took another bedroom in the home.
The star also opened up on Barry’s attempts to mend their relationship, adding, “It’s like he wants me to stay but I don’t know that he wants to really change. I don’t see any way that that emotional intimacy can really be reconnected.”
Meanwhile, Barry, 54, noted how he didn't expect to split with Kim. He said at the show, “I can’t help but feel a little betrayed. One thing I thought wouldn’t ever be shaken was us. Now it’s totally shaken up. It’s just really sad. It’s a tragedy,” adding, “I look at her and I see a woman who feels trapped. I have bought flowers and bought presents, but I’m still an optimist hoping that she’ll change.”
