During the current coronavirus pandemic, plenty of people have been stuck at home with nothing much to do and have sought to entertain themselves in different ways, from song and dance routines to donning a chef's hat for the first time. All this free time means that people can finally spend their undivided attention on catching up with their family and friends, and for others, it meant catching up with some new TV shows and some old favorites.

And now a  talented TikTok user who goes by the name of Williamstgoldsmith has just served up the ultimate quarantine relief care package.

William chose to entertain himself and millions of others on the video-sharing platform TikTok by recreating the theme tune from the brilliant NBC comedy 'The Office', which remains a cult classic to this day. The mockumentary-styled sitcom ran for 201 episodes over nine seasons, spawning plenty of memorable moments and a zillion hilarious memes.

In keeping with the refreshingly quirky, oddball nature of the show, William decided to give his 'Office' cover version some pizzazz; this was no ordinary homage. Instead, he chose to play the theme song in 10 different styles, ranging from pop and country to heavy metal and 8-bit. Amazingly, all of them mesh really well together, combining seamlessly for the ultimate genre-crossover smash hit. Williamstgoldsmith's clip has close to a million likes at last count and the clip has been viewed an astounding 4 million times already. You can check it out here yourself. It's quite a special and creative effort.

The creative youngster, who has already gained more than 50,000 followers thanks to his amazing renditions guitar and piano-based songs, took the theme to another level with his hilarious and well-thought-out phrasings. William recorded the song on his sky-blue Fender Stratocaster in his bedroom, accompanied by some backing tracks that he also created himself. Here's the full breakdown of the genres:

1. Original 'The Office' theme (Ahh, nostalgia)

2. Country (The cowboy hat was a nice touch)

3. Pop / EDM (Pumping that groovy bass)

4. Punk rock  (You can feel that raw energy)

5. Jazz (Some great virtuoso flourishes here)

6. Rap / Trap (Get ready to do the Toosie Slide)

7. Reggae (Yah man, that's a nice chill vibe)

8. 8-Bit / Chiptune (We need a videogame themed on 'The Office')

9. Blues (Let the power & poetry of the blues consume you)

10. Metal (Get your horns up and headbang away)
