'Tigtone' Season 2: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about the Adult Swim anime series

Adult Swim is known for its acclaimed adult animates series - most of which have become great hits. Season 1 of the animated action-adventure 'Tigtone' first aired last year on January 13. According to reports, the characters of the series are based on the ones from 'The Begun of Tigtone'. To everyone's joy and relief, Season 2 of the series was announced in July 2019 with the network on August 13, 2020, announcing the release date. Here is all you need to know about the series.

Release date

'Tigtone' Season 2 releases on Sunday, September 13, 2020. 

Plot

IMDb's synopsis reads, "In this gory spoof of the medieval fantasy genre, berserker Tigtone and his trusty sidekick Helpy, a strange creature with the power of regeneration which Tigtone always (ab)uses, go on epic quests in a macabre medieval kingdom."

According to the trailer release, "The quarter-hour series combines highly rendered, hand-painted fantasy art, motion capture performance, 2D animation, and pseudo-3D visual effects. The wizards at Titmouse, the award-winning animation production company, have ventured into uncharted territory to pioneer this radical new style, creating a Tigtone universe that is beautifully unsettling."

Derryberry is known for her voice role as Jimmy Neutron, Maureen Murphy in 'F is for Family' (2015-2020), Wednesday Addams in 'The Addams Family' (1992-1993), Tinkerbell in 'Peter Pan and the Pirates' (1990-1991) and Green Aliens/Amy in 'Toy Story 2'.

Summer is known for her voice role as Princess "Kida" Kidagakash in the 'Atlantis' franchise such as the video games 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire - Trial by Fire' (2001) and 'Atlantis: The Lost Empire' (2001). She is also known to be the voice of Cleo in 'Clifford's Really Big Movie' (2004) and Penny from 'Inspector Gadget' (1983). You may also recognize her voice from her other roles in hit shows such as Peabo/Cinnamon Jones from 'The Proud Family' (2002-2003), Professor Williams/Jolenna in the TV series 'Spider-Man' (2003), Octavia Laurent in 'Queen Sugar' (2019) and Nebula in the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' TV series (2015-2019).

The rest of the voice cast includes Nils Frykdahl voicing Tigtone, Bill Corbett, Lucy Davis voicing King Queen, Jeffrey Combs voicing Prince Lavender, Trace Beaulieu voicing Command-Or Mathis, Gary Anthony Williams voicing Memory Gnome, John DiMaggio and Sid Haig voicing Lord Festus and many more.

Creators

Andrew Koehler and Benjamin Martian serve as creators and executive producers of the series. Blake Anderson, known for 'Workaholics', also serves as an executive producer. The series is directed by Freddy Cristy and Martian and is produced by Babyhemyth Productions with Titmouse, Inc. and Williams Street.

The trailers' synopsis reads, "Tigtone returns! With their once idyllic fantasy land now reduced to an idyllic fantasy wasteland, Tigtone the master-questerer and his magically regenerative sidekick Helpy must face all-new mischievous monsters, all-new enchanted chaos, and all-new irresistible quests in their all-new baffling adventures!"
