Lifetime Movie's latest film, ‘The Wrong Prince Charming’ is a thriller that follows Bridget (Vivica A Fox) and Anna’s (Cristine Prosperi) equation with the Prince of Devonshire, Edward (James Nitti). In the film, Bridget plays the role of a successful entrepreneur, and Anna is her young and beautiful lawyer.

When they strike a business deal with Prince Edward, Bridget finds in Edward, a perfect business partner, and the “right” guy for Anna. Little do they know that he is not what he seems to be. The movie is an addition to the ‘Wrong’ films produced by Fox herself.

The film starts with a woman entering a house asking "Where is he?" after which the next cut directly starts narrating Bridget and Anna's story. Bridget is a successful businesswoman, who is very friendly and motivating for her employees. Anna, who works under Bridget, is a very hard-working lawyer.

Both of them come across a deal with a man who claims to be a prince, and his friend, Liam (Jonathan Stoddard). The alleged prince meets Anna with a deal, which requires Bridget's company to invest millions of dollars in a scheme. But soon it turns out that everything that the Prince said was a lie and the two had been conning people with such deals for quite some time.

The camera work in the film was praiseworthy as the makers kept a balance of wide-angle shots and face close-ups in the film. The handheld camera work in certain parts of the films might not seem pleasant to the eyes for many viewers, but it only enhances the suspense effect of the plot, especially, during candid scenes and close-up shots of Anna and Prince Edwards' intense conversations.

As always, Vivica's acting skills stole the show and Cristine did full justice to her role as well. However, as the plot thickened, Nitti's acting was a little "overboard". Also, in several parts of the film, the suspense music overpowered conversations on the characters on screen. Not much focus was given to Anna's missing friend, Heather (Jasmine Aivaliotis), or on the other woman, Mia (Jamie Bernadette) who was another victim of the fake Prince Edward.

Even though the narration and character building was good, it is still not clear why the makers didn't emphasize the fact that the fake Prince Edward, who was actually a con man looked "just" like the original Prince Edward. ‘The Wrong Prince Charming’ questions the image that the society has created of the 'Prince Charming,' whose charm is enough to make any girl fall in love.

Anna, who falls for the perfect man, comes to a betrayal after finding out that he is not her 'Prince Charming'. The film also sends a message to viewers to go through a "proper" check before trusting anyone. Keeping the flaws aside, it was a well-told tale in all.

The film will release on Friday, January 22 at 8 pm ET/PT on Lifetime Movies Network (LMN).
