Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, famously known by the name, THE WEEKND, surprised his fans when they hear the Canadian singer speak for the first time. The clip, which is 20 seconds long, spread like wildfire on Twitter, only moments after it surfaced.

The 32 years old Canadian singer is renowned for his recognizable singing voice and memorable songs like 'Call out my name', 'Starboy' and many more. The 20-second clip captures the superstar speaking gently to a fan backstage before his most recent Miami performance. A user tweeted "Y'all his voice!" accompanying a video of The Weeknd addressing a fan and stating, "I thought you were gonna come to the Tampa show.  Are you originally from Miami?" The fan responds by saying that he isn't.

Twitter users who follow The Weeknd were a little crazed after the clip surfaced, claiming that they had never heard the singer's original 'talking voice' before and had no idea he would sound so different compared to his singing voice. "I was today years old when i realized I’ve never heard Abel speak," a Twitter user remarked, reacting to the clip of the singer speaking. "That’s what he sounds like? I would’ve never thought!" a second user also tweeted. "This is my first time hearing the weeknd speak," commented a fan, while another joked: "Wait he can talk? I thought everything he says he sang."

Fans were also quick to compare the singer's voice with comedian Trevor Noah's voice, claiming that The Weeknd sounded like the host of 'The Daily Show'. "It’s like if Trevor Noah was from Canada," a user tweeted. In other news, The Weeknd is reportedly dating 29-year-old DJ Simi Khadra. Dating rumors first did the rounds in April 2021 and were fuelled up later in February 2022 when the duo was spotted leaving the Sunset Tower hotel together. Their relationship status has not yet been confirmed and neither have spoken about whether they are together.
