Are The Weeknd and Latin superstar Maluma collaborating? According to the latest social media posts by both musicians, a collaboration between the two is a very real possibility. Both Maluma and the Weeknd took to social media and shared an image of the two. The Weeknd posted the photograph on both Instagram and Twitter without any caption while Maluma, sharing the same image, tagged the Weeknd on his Instagram post. You can see the image in the tweet below.

If the two singers collaborate, it would be the first time Maluma and The Weeknd are working together. While it's still unclear what the two stars are going to release, fans on Twitter are hoping to hear the Canadian artiste sing in Spanish. The Weeknd, after posting the photo, also tweeted in Spanish writing, "el fin de semana" which translates to the weekend.

The official Pop Crave account also confirmed the upcoming collaboration saying, "The Weeknd teases a new collaboration with Maluma in new social media post." One user on Instagram posted, "STOP THIS IS MY DREAM COLLAB NO F**KING WAY OH MY F**K."

Fans were quick to react to the possible collab tease with one Twitter user writing, "Maluma and the Weeknd...wow" while another expressed their excitement saying, "Hold up!!! Maluma & The Weeknd on the “Hawai” remix?!?!?!?! Oh, yup! This is what I need." Predicting the Weeknd's domination on the purported collab, a fan said, "I can already tell you the Weeknd about to eat up Maluma in his own song," while another elated fan tweeted, "god really saw me at my worst, and then he thought he'll make Maluma & the Weeknd do a collab."

Though the exact details of the collaboration aren't clear yet, fans are speculating that it will be a remix of Maluma's track chart-topping hit 'Hawái' from the singer's fifth studio album 'Papi Juancho'. Many fans also believe that the track will drop this coming Friday, November 6, 2020. A fan, speculating the same, wrote, "Maluma will release a remix to his song 'Hawái' with The Weeknd this Friday, November 6th."

Maluma's 'Hawái' topped the charts in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Spain, and reached #4 on the Billboard Global 200. It also reached #55 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track's music video has, so far, generated over 420 million views as of November 2020.

On August 30, 2020, Maluma performed 'Hawái' at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. The Weeknd, on the other hand, was recently featured on Calvin Harris' new track 'Over Now' which peaked at #22 on the Billboard Hot 100.
