It's time for 'The Voice' finale showdown. Episode 16 of Season 19 finally announced the top five finalists after a nail-biting face-off from the previous episode. Contestants John Holiday, Desz, Jim Ranger, Carter Rubin and Ian Flanigan were picked by America for the five reserved seats for the finale. John Holiday, who represents Team Legend, was one of the first contestants to go in the finale as he is someone who fans have been rooting for since day one.

The 35-year-old Texas resident has been one of the top contenders of the singing reality show, thanks to his alluring personality and tone-perfect vocals. Apart from this, there are several factors why we think Holiday deserves to win the current season of ‘The Voice'. Firstly, he is a trained Opera singer which allows him to have an extensive range of vocals. Secondly, he teaches music at Lawrence University’s Conservatory of Music, which takes him a step ahead of his counterparts. Thirdly, during his entire journey on the show, Holiday has showcased his extraordinary singing skills by picking different genres. Whether it was a sad song or an uptempo party number, he made sure he nailed his performances and left judges impressed. Also, he has been open about his personal life choices. If Holiday wins the show, he could be the first openly gay winner of the singing reality show.

As soon as Holiday was picked in the top five, fans erupted with joy on social media. Speaking on the same lines, one user stated, “Music to our ears hearing LCHS Alum, John Holiday, has secured his spot on the Voice Finale! #TeamLegend #TheVoice #SingItJohn.” One posted, “You got this John Holiday!!” Another stated, “After the fix you performance, of course John Holiday will be in the finals. #TeamLegend #TheVoice.”

One added, “I think John Holiday going to be the winner on the Voice!!” Another expressed, “@NBCTheVoice John Holiday is the voice we needed in this incredibly difficult year!” One individual shared, “John Holiday is fabulous.... Simply awesome voice... The first time I heard him I thought it was Natalie Cole and Witney Houston's dueting.”

Holiday grew up singing in church and learned to play the piano with encouragement from his grandmother, as revealed on the official website of NBC. His synopsis further reads, “He later joined the Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas and they were invited to perform with the Houston Symphony. It was there that John experienced opera for the first time and remembers being inspired after seeing and hearing someone of color perform that style of music. He decided to pursue opera himself to break more barriers as a young gay Black man. John now performs opera in four languages and works as a jazz singer. He currently lives in Wisconsin with his husband, Paul, where he is a voice teacher at the Conservatory of Music at Lawrence University.”

For the unversed, ‘The Voice’ finale will be held on two nights. Fans can catch the performances on December 14, whereas the final results are scheduled for December 15, 2020. It will be aired on NBC. The viewers can also watch the singing reality show on the official website of NBC and on their official app along with the network's new streaming service Peacock.

Catch the pre-show at 8 pm and the finale at 9 pm of ‘The Voice’ on December 15, 2020.
