'The Voice' season 17, episode 2: Mendeleyev hits a low note on a Bob Dylan cover and fans are going crazy

After Mendeleyev's performance, fans themselves couldn't contain their excitement for the contestant who was introduced to folk music by his parents.

'The Voice' season 17 returned on Monday night for episode 3, and amongst the slew of impeccable contestants that performed, there was one distinct singer who made all four coaches turn their chair with his voice.

Singing his rendition of Bob Dylan's 'Girl From the North Country' Mendeleyev Galileo Einstein Pythagoras Darwin Euclid Leonardo Alan Blitz (yup that's his name!)  surprised the coaches with his unique tone and pitch. Though the coaches were hesitant to turn their chair for him, by the end of his performance, all four coaches had their chairs turned.

After he was done with his performance Kelly Clarkson said, "I feel like your voice just sounds like the best glass of pinot noir ever. Like, I feel like a warm blanket was just wrapped around me and I'm being tucked in and it's the most beautiful moment ever. I would love to hear a record of you on vinyl."

While Kelly tried to make her best pitch there was one thing that caught Mendeleyev's attention, and that's John Legend singing a Richie Haven song. Then and there it was known that this was an easy steal for John, and right enough it was.

After Mendeleyev's performance, fans couldn't contain their excitement for the contestant who was introduced to folk music by his parents. Taking to Twitter a fan wrote, "Mendeleyev said that Richie Haven is a huge inspiration for him but not a lot of people know him. So when John Legend started singing a Richie song I knew he was going to be picked. Other judges didn't seem to know Richie. Legend got a good one! #TheVoice."

Adding to that another said, "#TheVoice did anyone else hear that?! OMG it was like being hugged by my Dad! So comforting, so beautiful! If he ever sings Deep Purple Dream Just order my coffin, I’m dead."

"Am I the only one who literally cry’s listening to these amazing singers on #TheVoice #BlindAuditions Welcome to Team John #Mendeleyev," said a fan. While another added, "#TheVoice Mendeleyev has an amazing and interesting voice. And family."

'The Voice' season 17 airs every Monday and Tuesday night only on NBC. Check your local listings for more information.
