'The Voice' season 17: John Legend offers Jared Herzog dinner cooked by wife Chrissy Teigen to get him on his team
'The Voice' season 17 graced our screens with a brand new episode on Monday night, and John Legend went all out to get Jared Herzog in his team.
Taking to the stage, and auditioning, Jared performed his version of Dan+Shay's 'Speechless' sharing with fans and viewers that it was dedicated to his girlfriend as a Valentine's Day gift. With Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani as judges, Jared managed to get a chair turn from Blake, Gwen, and John.
Hailing from Niceville, Jared is a 21-year-old singer who had Blake, Gwen and John fighting for him to join their team. The coaches pulled out all the stops in order to get him into their team, but the best pitch of all came from John.
Starting off John joked around saying, "My name is John Legend, I'm from Springfield, Ohio, and I like long walks on the beach. I won The Voice last season. I'm a Capricorn." He then continued to add, "You take the whole audience on a journey. I would love to work with you and help you build that story even more. I would love to work with you and help you build that story even more."
While Gwen and Blake continued their banter and PDA, Gwen stated that if Jared picks her, he gets Blake too. To which John promptly jumped saying that if Jared picks him, he gets Chrissy Teigen too. He added that she is a mighty good cook and can cook him dinner.
Without a doubt, that pitch won over Jared, who went on to reveal that he has always wanted to work with John for a very long time and ended up picking him as his coach. And John couldn't help but be on top of the world with his mighty win.
Jared is surely a good addition to his team and brings him closer to winning this season again.
