'The Voice' 21: A Girl Named Tom moves to finale, fans dub it 'crime against music'

Even though A Girl Named Tom has created history by becoming the first trio to compete in 'The Voice' finals, fans aren't thrilled about it

When it comes to talent competition shows, you can be sure that the show's fans will always have some pretty strong opinions about the contestants and the judges' decisions. It's no different with NBC's singing competition show 'The Voice'. As the hit NBC show gets ready for Season 21's grand finale, fans aren't holding back their thoughts on the top five performers who will be competing in the finale. 

While fans seem to be ecstatic about Jershika Maple, Hailey Mia, Paris Winningham, and Wendy Moten securing a spot in the finale, they however don't seem to be pleased about siblings trio- A Girl Named Tom securing a spot in the coveted lineup. The trio's moving performance to Joni Mitchell's 'River' clearly left a strong impact on the show's audience, as they managed to secure enough votes to safely reserve a spot in the finale without having to compete for the instant save vote. Even though A Girl Named Tom has created history by becoming the first trio to compete on 'The Voice' finals, fans aren't thrilled about it and took to Twitter to express the same.

Several fans took to Twitter to express their anger with A Girl Named Tom making it to the top five. A fan tweeted, "GNT made it through when 2/3 of the group can't sing #TheVoice." Another fan wrote, "GNT taking a spot they don’t deserve #TheVoice." "The fact girl named Tom got more votes than Joshua and jershika I think y’all voting system is glitching cuz the math ain’t mathing. #TheVoice," commented a fan.

Another fan shared, "Girl Named Tom making the finale is a crime against music #thevoice." "GNT did not deserve to make it after that last performance. Should’ve been Jershika or Josh honestly. GNT has been getting save by Becca but as a whole hasn’t been great #TheVoice," pointed out a fan. Another fan added, "The next time somebody wants to talk about white supremacy the first thing I’m mentioning is Girl Named Tom. Because why are they still here? #TheVoice."

'The Voice' Season 21 airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
