'The Voice' Lives: Fans upset as votes save A Girl Named Tom in Team Kelly

For weeks fans watched with disappointment as their favorite performers were sent home by coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Ariana Grande in 'The Voice'. So, when finally the audience were given the power to vote to decide which contestants would proceed on the show and who would be eliminated based on their voting, fans were ecstatic about it as they could finally get a chance to save their performers and watch their journey on the hit NBC show.

The recently aired episode featured the results of the audiences' voting to decide which of the 20 contestants from the show's Lives round would earn a spot on the coveted Top 13. The show's host Carson Daly brought out the members from each coach's team and announced the names of two performers who received the highest number of votes from the audience and secured their spot among the Top 13. He began with Team Kelly. Kelly's team comprised of A Girl Named Tom, Gymani, Hailey Mia, Katie Rae and Jeremy Rosado. Carson revealed that A Girl Named Tom and Jeremy Rosado received the maximum votes.

While fans were pleased with Jeremy proceeding to the next round, they were however unhappy with A Girl Named Tom's result. Many fans felt that the sibling trio shouldn't have won over other talented performers from the team such as Gymani and Hailey. A fan tweeted, "White mediocrity = Girl Named Tom. #TheVoice." Another fan wrote, "This voice might be on crack or America in fact, cause ain’t no way they ain’t save Samuel…..and ain’t no way they saved a girl named Tom #TheVoice." "Thank you Kelly for saving Gymani since america was on something decided girl named Tom was worth their save more than her #TheVoice," commented a fan.

Another fan shared, "Y’all really let Libianca, David, and Raquel just leave but saved GIRL NAMED TOM…. I REALLY CANT RN #TheVoice." "Girl named tom and jeremy over hailey? i’m sorry GOODBYE #TheVoice," declared a fan. "Y’all saved girl named tom….. over hailey AND gymani oh ok #TheVoice," echoed a fan.

'The Voice' Season 21 airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c on NBC.
