'Time to end The View': ABC faces massive calls to fire Whoopi Goldberg and axe controversial talk show

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Whoopi Goldberg has been under fire after her historically inaccurate statement about the Holocaust, which involved the murder of millions of Jews. In an interview published with The Sunday Times on Saturday, December 24, 2022, Goldberg made the remarks after the reporter said, "Nazis saw Jews as a race," referring to Goldberg's comments in January when she claimed the Holocaust was "not about race."

To which, Goldberg said, “Yes, but that’s the killer, isn’t it? The oppressor is telling you what you are. Why are you believing them? They’re Nazis. Why believe what they’re saying? It wasn’t originally” about race. The 67-year-old actor continued, “Remember who they were killing first. They were not killing racial; they were killing physical. They were killing people they considered to be mentally defective. And then they made this decision.”

When the reporter told Goldberg that "the Nazis measured the heads and noses of Jews to 'prove' they were a distinct race," Goldberg replied, “They did that to Black people too. But it doesn’t change the fact that you could not tell a Jew on a street. You could find me. You couldn’t find them. That was the point I was making. But you would have thought that I’d taken a big old stinky dump on the table, butt naked.”

The interview comes after ten months after Goldberg's suspension from 'The View' for two weeks for her remarks that the Holocaust was “not about race.” The remark emerged during a conversation on the show where she said, “Let’s be truthful about it because [the] Holocaust isn’t about race. It’s not about race. It’s about man’s inhumanity to man," quotes Variety.

'Permanently mute her mic'

However, following the latest remark, many were quick to criticize the show. One wrote, "I think it's time for The View to be taken off the air entirely." Another wrote, "Just cancel the damn show. It shows nothing but divisiveness." One suggested, "Keep Whoopi on the show but just permanently mute her mic."

One more commented, "They all should be fired. The whole show should be fired. Period. They are terrible!" While an individual said, "Whole show needs to go down. It bites big time." "The View should be fired once and for all. Nothing but lying, country-dividing, propaganda poison," another user pointed out.
