THE LAST STRAW? Internet slams Whoopi Goldberg for making 'Holocaust wasn’t racial' claim AGAIN
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg has once again created controversy after claiming that the Holocaust had nothing to do with race. The 67-year-old television personality’s apparent problematic statement came months after she first made it on ABC’s ‘The View’ in early 2022, which resulted in her suspension from the show. Though at the time she had reportedly apologized, it seems she did not actually mean it.
Goldberg recently spoke with The Times, where she went on to share her views regarding the Holocaust. When she was told that the Nazis believed that the mass execution was racially motivated, the television personality reportedly noted, “Yes, but that's the killer, isn't it? The oppressor is telling you what you are. Why are you believing them? They're Nazis. Why believe what they're saying?”

She continued, “Remember who they were killing first. They were not killing racial; they were killing physical. They were killing people they considered to be mentally defective. And then they made this decision,” before mentioning that Jewish is not a race because like Black or White people, they cannot be identified. The comedian added, “It doesn't change the fact that you could not tell a Jew on a street. You could find me. You couldn't find them. That was the point I was making. But you would have thought that I'd taken a big old stinky dump on the table, butt naked.”
However, this was not the first time Goldberg has insisted on her initial comment. According to ET Canada, during her appearance on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’, she had remarked, “They [Nazis] had issues with ethnicity, not with race, because most of the Nazis were white people and most of the people they were attacking were white people, so to me, I’m thinking, How can you say it’s about race if you are fighting each other? So it all really began because I said, ‘How will we explain to children what happened in Nazi Germany?’ I said, ‘This wasn’t racial, this was about white on white,’ And everybody said, ‘No, no, no, it was racial,’ and so that’s what this all came from.”
Meanwhile, Goldberg’s recent words, which she expressed to The Times, have attracted some eyeballs on the internet. One user wrote, “To bad she wasn't permanently removed.” The third one shared, “Antisemitism is on the rise, and Whoopi is leading the way. Let’s see the outcry from the media!” Whilst, the fourth one wrote, “She should read Hitler's Mein Kamp, in the book he explain what he thought about the Jewish and the holocaust was the Endlosung der Judenfrage, if she is to stupid to understand that she needs Psychiatric help.”

“Needs to be off air PERMANENTLY @TheView,” a critic suggested. The second one added, “In the name of God, what is she on - If killing people of the the same religion is not racism at it’s best, then I don’t know what racism is - No doubt she thinks only coloured people have experience racism in the world - Well WRONG, others have had worse!”
