'The UnXplained': Release date, plot, trailer, all you need to know about return of William Shatner-hosted series

Hosted by Willian Shatner, with his trademark twinkle in his eyes, 'The UnXplained' is like the real-life X-files. This one-hour, non-fiction series explores the world’s most fascinating, strange, and inexplicable mysteries that have "mystified mankind for centuries". The already-aired 16 episodes have explored subjects like amazing animal abilities, vampires and werewolves, life beyond death, mysterious structures, cults, and extraterrestrial sightings. The series also features contributions from scientists, historians, engineers, and researchers.
Having tried to figure out these mysteries, they offer the most logical explanations for some of the most bizarre phenomenons and impossible events in history. The show is produced by Prometheus Entertainment that is also the name behind shows like 'Ancient Aliens' and 'The Curse of Oak Island'.
Release date
The weekly series will return on History channel on July 11, 2020. It will air at 9/8c on Saturdays.
Plot
The documentary TV series is set to air episodes 17, 18, and 19 in July with these titles — 'The Greatest Escapes', 'Superhuman Senses' and 'Mysterious Curses'.
The synopsis of 'The Greatest Escapes' states: "Some of history's greatest tales are stories of escape, the most incredible of which defy explanation. How did Harry Houdini pull off his daring feats? Was the 'Escape from Alcatraz' in fact, successful? And what about the mysterious guidance one man received that allowed him to escape the South Tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11? Are there strange forces these escapees draw upon to beat the odds, where so many others fail? Or, like a great magic trick, will the secrets of how they cheated captivity remain UnXplained?" Synopsis of episode 18 and 19 are still to be released.
Cast
The show is hosted by Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor William Shatner. Shatner is best known for his roles as Captain Kirk on 'Star Trek'. He has also won critical acclaim for his role as a senior lawyer in the legal drama, 'Boston Legal'.

The show is produced by Prometheus Entertainment owned by Kevin Burns. William Shatner also serves as an executive producer on the show.
